Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. since betfair have upgraded to the betfairJPS. I am unable to login to the poker (both the client and the the browser version). Im pretty sure it has something to do my java client. Problem is,
I have installed uninstalled the latest Java, and this has not worked.
I have restored my computer to factory settings (i.e. re-installed the OS) which is Windows 7 Home premium, installed the latest Java, latest flash, turned off firewall and downloaded and installed the betfair poker client and it still has not worked. When i run the software it says "checking for updates" and then comes with the following message
Can't read from http://download.ongamenetwork.com/games/293/Q3YA/win32/./arch/win32/jre/bin/jp2launcher.exe.pz, system error:12002
The reason I think its a java problem is when I login to the betfair website with my account details it does not show my balance (which is also java driven, I think)
but Im lost as to what else I need to try. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Can someone who has betfair working tell me what version of Java they are running.. (I have Java 6 update 25) which is the latest.
sorry for the long and drawn out post.. but really stuck as to what the next move should be. Thanks for the help.
Please got to the following page on the poker website and click on the 'Are you experiencing problems with the client upgrade' link at the bottom of the page. On there you will find a fix for the 'Checking for updates' problem:
Please let us know if this doesn't resolve the issue.

This really rips my knitting. I've been trying to get back online for three days, and got a call from someone in Malta this afternoon to tell me categorically there was nothing .. NOTHING .. Betfair could do as this was SOLEY a Virgin Media Broadband problem. Despite telling the girl that I had it 1st hand from VM TSC escalates support that this was not simply a VM problem, she simply parroted the company line and I got nowhere.
NOW, by chance I find that there are indeed issues with the May 16th Upgrade which are nothing to do with which broadband provider one uses. So, I follow all the advice from the links above and guess whatt .. yep, it makes no difference. It's just not acceptable customer service, but it's been like this for years. Been with the site for 9 years but what am I supposed to do if the cust service staff can't even get there message right? Give it another 24hrs and then I'll have no choice but to close my account.

9 years of being 5h1t on and you're STILL going to give them 24hrs. I have to say, before this forum came along I really really, point blank refused to believe that people like you actually exist. Please don't reply (especially with abuse) because I just don't think you have the right. Indefensible.

Hi, i've checked the "Are you having problems page". All it says is uninstall the client, clear the cookies make sure latest java is installed and re-install the client.
As per my original post, I've done this many times over, infact I've re-installed my operating system, installed the latest Java and flash and then installed the BF client. Unfortunately this has not helped.
I can run the browser based client now, so I know Java is definately working. Perhaps its a issue with Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)?
Thanks in advance for any help. Best Regards.

Chippie, I got in at 2am this morning. Did all the things you did etc, but had to attempt to connect to Ongame more than a dozen times, but eventually managed to download the update again. Thought all was well until this morning when I came up against the same issues. Started the system from the .exe file and after several failed attempts, got in. No idea what the issue is, but it's an ongoing one.
Charlyfarly, no idea what your issue is fella, and I'm trying to think of something constructive to say, but all I can think of is, select a digit and rotate?
