Was 1/29/135 in the Daily Canadian 5k thanks to AA twice standing up after getting doubled up early by someone either very drunk or daft (AK v 54 on an AKK42 board) - then i was dealt KK and lost 25% of my stack to TT.
Not had any sort of hand for 3/4 rounds and now 8/24.

Slipped to 11/17 but now 7/14 thx to KK holding up v 77. Curse of the kings - no way [;)]

the call with a8 suited 4 handed im not sure about, he certainly wasnt pot committed. the play with a7 is  pretty standard short handed, and you cant really argue too much with the call with ak.

where bf differs, as can be seen from this thread, is how sheer stupidity seems to be regularly rewarded. take the hand below for example. the guy first to act raises 3 and a half times the big blind. in a 10 handed 20$ stt with blinds 13/30 that is almost never anything other than aa,kk or qq.

fair enough the button calls with 44. both him and the original raiser have more than 10 times the size of the bet behind, so if he flops his set he can hopefully reap his rewards.

he misses the flop, but rather than fold he shoves, with effectively 2 outs and having to miss clubs and the 2 aces. which he manages. and this crap happens day in and day out :

You seem like a sensible and intelligent guy so if you actually believe all this stuff why in the hell are you still playing here?

I cannot win on the new software and was getting outdrawn left right and centre so I now play mainly elsewhere, to complain about the genuineness of the cards on a site and still play there at best is stupidity!

well, if you read back through what i've written on here i haven't claimed to believe in anything. i play here and on stars. i see more bizarre stuff on here in a day than i do on stars in a week.

i've always maintained wherever there is more bad play, you get more scope for bad beats. i havent come across another site at the 20-30 dollar stt level where i have seen such consistently shocking play. the players on stars have a much better grasp of the fundamentals and can laydown hands. just from the hand histories i have posted on here it is abundantly clear the same is not true on bf. obviously on a site of gambling maniacs you see a lot more flops than on a site populated by poker players

what i've seen here, that i haven't seen elsewhere, are people blindly playing any 2 suited cards. it is widespread and it amazes me. even if they didnt understand the mathematical probability of them making flushes you would think over time they would realise playing these hands was hugely unprofitable. unless of course these hands were holding up more than they should do using a random number generator.

could the rng be " tweaked " to produce a more interesting game ? of course it could, the brains to produce this already exist and the evidence is in every betting shop in the high street. could the rng be tweaked so that the fish lose less often than they should, thereby encouraging them to stick with it ? yes, it probably could . would a company tweaking their rng make more money in the long term ? undoubtedly yes. however its a huge leap from saying a company could do it, to saying a company would do it.

i play here because despite going through a horrific run i'm  currently attributing to variance ( just shoved with aq called by a7 suited who flops the nuts ), i make a profit. however im playing probably 20% of the poker on bf i did a year ago because of the lack of incentives offered to sng players, the proliferation during the leaderboard period of eastern european account sharers almost certainly using software banned on other sites, and collusion. but hey, that's a different matter. [;)]

I don't know if it is of any interest but I have been doing some statistical analyses to investigate the 'juiced board' hypothesis.
My theory was if I analysed a sample of hole cards I had been dealt and compared with a sample of board cards I might find a difference in the likelihood of one card being followed by a card which was some kind of connector or pair.

My analyses excluded A being followed by 2 or 2 by A, in which case the theoretical probability of a connector or pair ensuing is 20.362%. I analysed data from 5 different sites:

I have posted these data at 2p2, where I am never specific about which site I am talking about. But I can tell you that one site is the old BF, one is BF2 and the other 3 are major sites.

The upshot is that any difference between the hole/board cards falls within the likely expected statistical variation (for a 100K sample the SD is around 0.1).

I am interested if there could be any way to detect a re-ordering of the board cards to stimulate action, but I am not very hopeful.

over the last 5 years thrappers has probably talked more sense than anyone on this forum. he has already stated why he switched to full tilt, though i'm pretty sure he would still turn up to any forum live games.

i'm also pretty sure there aren't thousands of betfair poker employees. i always assumed there were no more than 5 mon-fri, and none on a weekend. i'm also pretty sure someone could rig the  software so that the words "i have a golden horse that sh1ts diamonds" appeared on screen before every river card was dealt, and nobody at betfair poker would notice. they  still haven't worked out why their server crashes every saturday afternoon ffs, and that's important sh1t.

These type of threads have been going on for as long as i can remember so when i said thousands i meant all sites over the years. And i assumed you were all talking about ongame and not just the bf skin.

Playing in the daily dollar rebuy at ftp last night, 6 hours in down from 4900 odd to just 40 or so, so the money just starting to get interesting. I shove with KK against the 2nd chip leader who turns over JJ. I don't need tell you the outcome.

Thanks for ur kind words, any juicing of boards would for obvious reasons would favour the inferior players so I can see why a site would want to do it but if it ever got proved and it wouldn't be hard with modern analytical software then the company would be finished.  It really would be  a case of killing the golden goose!

I play where I like the software and where the style of general play suits my game as we all should, some people love playing a field of donks which is what u get on ongame but I prefer playing more conservative players as that is better for the way I play.

For me the more pre flop all action hands there is the more outdraws there will be it really is that simple A7 will beat KK roughly 30% of the time but if we are all honest we quickly forget the 7 times we win and the 3 times we lose burns itself into our memory.  Its just the same as when your horse falls at the last when 20 lenghts clear you talk about it for weeks but when you back a horse that wins and the leader falls when 20 lengths clear at the last you only remember it for about 5 minutes!

I would not recommend a site, personally I think people should play as many different sites as possible and play mostly on the one they feel is most comfortable/profitable/enjoyable.

I actually play on maybe 5 different networks in any one week and will quite often move the majority of my play from one week to the next depending on results or mood swings

im running super bad across 3 sites at the moment. i keep looking for light attheend of the tunnel but none is forthcoming. the life tilting thing with bf2 isnot simply that your hand doesn't hold up, its the nature of the flop/river cards. just played a d2n where im effectively playing 10 10 vs q 3 for 40 bucks. him flopping a queen you can deal with, but bf2 always seems to have a sicker way of beating you. :

Must admit my KK held up twice last night in the community tourney. Mind you it was all for nothing in the end when I bubbled in 6th place after 3 hour's play.

That is my main gripe with poker. You either play for hours and break even, or you play for hours and lose. Or as with laddies, play for hours, get a great hand, your computer freezes, lose pot, thank you good night.

Well I think you did nothing wrong there chip. I have to say though that I tend to raise 4x BB preflop, then just shove if no A on flop. I hate letting a premium pair go to the river unless I have made a set. Obviously there are special cases, though. Needless to say I still lose a good proportion when the villain calls with top pair or some kind of draw but at least I know it is out of my hands by then.

Well I beg to differ. On that flop what possible hands are there likely to be beating me? I checked in the hope that he would bet. When he didn't, and the Turn opened up the unlikely possibility of a straight draw beating me I bet the pot, which priced out an OESD.

When the river opened up the definite possibility of a straight I checked rather than raise again.

I would argue that if you flop set of Kings betting out after the flop will make less money in the long term than checking or check raising.

then that's fine wykhamist2 but then you cant coplain when your get outdrawn.

Personally regardless of having the nuts on the flop I'd still bet 3/4 pot as these retards still seem to call. That way there's nothing more you can do.

If he had called a 3/4 pot bet after the flop for sure he would have called an even bigger bet after the turn came down and I would have lost a lot more. I was actually quite glad I only ended up losing 270 chips.

As it was a few hands later I shoved with AJ from the button and got called by 55 in the BB and lost.

wykhy i think u played it right with exeption of a bigger preflop raise other than that u tried and didnt cost u too much.
