Is this event still going ahead as advertised? 1.30pm, Saturday 12th February, Foxs, Shaftesbury Avenue. Anyone else definately going, not may runners when I last looked, and I see from other thread, that some players are taking the cash option
The game will be sold out. In sure of that. Many many seats bought direct or won through promos so those guys don't get a physical ticket to register in holding tank.
No catch - just don't believe all that you see or rather don't see

Bought my seat in December. about 20 others I know personally are also going.
Bifta, evvo, redmist, kountoba, Iliketrips, finalinsult and his man friend, jbong, chipaccrual, rajofditton, wonky, alisdair, probably scandiuk but he is so lastminute.com boy and the crow if he flies in.
Ovalman I meet for the first time and no doubt many others UK based will be turning up.
Will be good fun.

You asked me to bring a young man along for your night time entertainment and then have a pop at me, you ungrateful bar steward!

I've been to a handful of Betfair events including 1 forum game, this will be my most expensive game yet. Everything's sorted, I booked a dive close to Victoria station for £25 a night, it's a single room but a shared bathroom. What I save in digs, I shall be spending on booze

am in same situation,i should have played a lot more sats but the selection is pretty poor.
there are a couple of level 2 $5 sats in the afternoon. one level 3 $24 in the evening and then a level 4 weekly final.
i would have liked aa couple of mtt satellites with 20 or so gtd tickets.pretty sure they would have filled if done properly.
also noticed when looking in lobby that the hourly freerolls add up to $260 today between 3pm and 11pm.so thats nearly 2k a week given away to people that contribute little or nothing to the site.seems fair.
rant over,my fault for being a donk who cant qualify.
see you in the sunday turbo if i cant play the main.

Nothing wrong with the freerolls if it keeps the fish here, I'd also like to see a few low stakes added tournies in the lobby.
My gripe is with the $2500 welcome freeroll with only 2-300 runners each week. If it was a $100 freeroll, there would still be 2-300 runners and I'm sure there would be no complaints.

Me and Klup both got through the level 2 qualifier today. However I didn't register for the 5 pm level 3 game (Website says level 3's to be held at 19.30), which has now started. Since the actual main event starts next saturday does this mean my $25 ticket is now worthless?

I see you did not enter the 5 pm tourney either Klup. As far as I can see that was the last chance to play a level 2 qualifier. If I go to my players club I do not find any tourney tickets there.
I double checked the London Live page at the website and it definitely says 19.30 pm for the level 2 qualifier. So this is beginning to look like another typical BF cockup. I will happily accept $24 in lieu or another ticket. Can you plead our case?

I sent a mail to the help desk, where it is being 'escalated' to the poker team. I found the ticket now, which expires in June 2011. However, the ticket is specifically for BF London Live not a general ticket, so I don't quite see the point of June. The last Level 4 Final is tonight at 8 pm.
If BF post the incorrect info on their website I think they should make good the value of the ticket, but we will see what happens.

there should be room to get tickets to the next qualifier at the very least. will check with the betfair gang after betfair london live. We will get to see the beautiful FRANtastic (Poker Events), Joe & Matt who look after UK, and Daniel who is head of poker. I will happily introduce you all to the latter three, if you leave Frantastic to me :)

Avoided bubbling in 4/4 sat and winning that level 4 ticket to non-existant tourney. But no cash and no seat.
Never mind. May buy in. May not.
Hope to spin up my $11 ticket to $108 which I decided to use at 2100 to keep company on very slow sat. Still in at 3rd break.

The site doesn't seem to allow you to join as a guest member, isn't secure and promises to spam you. Think I'll wait until Saturday cheers

Looking forward to it - only my 2nd Betfair event after the free invite to Betfair towers last summer. Hoping the hospitality is as good as is said. Also got a rival site to sponsor me for a few quid to wear their poker shirt so am staying in a proper hotel rather than a dive.
See you at the weekend.

Going to get there early, register and show ID before watching the Scumchester Derby somewhere at 12.45, there's a few good pubs around there, any recommendations?

Celtic the club opens at 12 has no sky lot of pubs round there but join on line, take the email with you this will save you a lot of time.As it is a private gig you dont pay and will have a pass for betfair only games...You also need proof of age.PS it is in soho so a lot of beer tokens needed round the club.

Thanks, will be there for Midday, have already joined on-line, friends used to have pub on Shaftesbury Avenue, but that was twenty years ago, shouldn't take too long to find good pub.

Not sure if I should unregister and just get pi$$ed as a spectator :D
Told the club is funky and that I an expect to like it. Much depends on the price of a double scotch me thinks!

Remember to check travel. Circle/Hammersmith and Fulham/District Line mainly closed all weekends. No escalator and try to avoid Victoria for tube. It's a bit messy at Tottenham Court road (getting ready for Cross-Rail). Rest should be OK/buses fine/taxis too. Though easy walk from mainline stations.
And for beers try:

£4.50 for a bottle in a theatre, club, casino, hotel and some pubs is good value in central London. Which is why we go to super or mini-markets.
A few cheaper pubs with pints on draft locally.
Though the guide did say try all 48.

The fox has staff problems; a few of the dealers are quite bad and someone told me the best dealers left as they do not get big cash games and therefore the tips are small.

Don't bother with Underground, it's a nightmare at best of times, jump on 24 bus outside Victoria, takes you straight there, and runs 24 hours, get off at Cambridge Circus stop, right near Fox Casino

How much is a bus journey as opposed to the tube and have you to get a pre-paid ticket before you get on? I've never use the buses in London, I'm staying close to Victoria so it would maybe be an easier trip via bus.
Was hoping to nip up to the Emirates then a pie an mash shop before I go to the Fox club on Saturday. I have it planned out via the tube but on Sunday I'd probably get the bus as I won't be travelling far.

when you get to london buy an oyster card for £3. then top it up with whatever you need.it will make tubes and buses cheaper.pretty sure you get the £3 back when you give the card in.

2.20 single and u have to use the machines by the bus stop with the correct change before you get on. Get an oyster card and it is 1.20. Equally the tube is a lot cheaper with oyster. Buses are really slow but I don't think Victoria is that far from Shaftesbury avenue so it is probably the best way if you are not in a massive hurry.

I have an Oyster card but there's something wrong with it, I couldn't be annoyed with one again.
I'll get an all day tube ticket for £8 on the Saturday and get a single trip bus journey on the Sunday. Can't see a need for any other time I'll use them. I'll walk or taxi at other times.

my train gets into Victoria, so no avoiding the tube there for me unfortunately. Staying near Waterloo, so hoping the tube will still be easier than trying to sort out buses.
Good luck to everyone playing this weekend. Hope to see some of you there :)
