Am I right in thinking I can't just buy in to tonights game directly?

Are there no satellites?

It appears not. I would pay to be in this as well. Gutted really cos i got bounced out of the 3 qualifiers i entered with sicker than sick beats.

I'm pretty sure there were $5.50 satellites running every day for the past few weeks which you could buy into directly, or win a ticket to it via the freerolls?

Totally ridiculous promotion.  By all means reward loyal customers with a free ticket but to reject business from other willing customers shows a lack of forsight and poor business acumen.

There was a direct buy-in route available however, it was necessary to remove this option for technical reasons. This is why the final was cancelled yesterday and then set up as a freeroll. Unfortunately, last night's issues Ongame-side that affected the 100 seats feeder have confused the whole situation for customers.

I will explain all in a post tomorrow but the at the moment I'm furiously crediting tickets.

Really sorry for this guys.

My thoughts exactly Bluff. And yes, i did enter three satellites, and suffered in all of them :(

Is it possible to credit my account with a ticket and I will happily pay the fee?
By:

me too. Surely it cant be that difficult to make this tourney ticket or cash?

If they make it cash entry, then the whole thing has to be changed again. It starts in less than an hour!

I can't explain in full here but leaving the direct buy-in route as an option would have caused way more headaches for both customers and staff had we not acted.

Both of you now have tickets (I think) - Please check your account as I had to search by forum name which isn't necessarily your poker screen name... If no ticket is in your account please call the helpdesk as I have instructed to  issue you with a ticket just in case.

I haven't asked for anything for free and I haven't expected anything for free.

In point of fact, when I called Betfair earlier to ask if I could direct buy and they said no, they offered me a free tournament ticket for another game which I declined so I certainly don't consider myself to be a beggar.

my point being i actually still play their site (god knows why) and they seem to ignore their regular players and have given out several tickets to anyone who has asked and i actually won one which vanished from my players club !!!!

Well Done Betfair, another shining example of why I don't play here anymore.

Give Tickets to people who say they were going to buy in?

I was going to buy in too? Do I get given a ticket?

What about all the poor people who put up with this site day in day out just to qualify for these things?

Well out in 26th place Cry Ended up pretty short stacked so pushed with pocket 9s, called by pocket Queens. Queen on the flop, and that was that!

Good game though, thanks Betfair [:)]

Yo Gypsy. I was out shortly before you. My AT cut down by K9 making  a flush on the turn after I had pushed him all in.

de. I appreciate your point but I didnt ask for a free entry and was surprised to get it. However, I have played BF poker from the crypto days. Perhaps if you had been more polite instead of chucking your toys out of the pram and being so demanding to BFTourneymgr, you might have got in. If you did have a genuine case then you blew it with your attitude. If you did get in good luck to you.

Unlucky JRAS, would have more annoyed to bubble out in the tournament. I'm pretty happy with the way i played, probably would have had more of a chance if my AK hadn't got beaten by KJ. At that stage i was 3rd or 4th in chips with about 50 remaining, and lost just over half my stack which put me a fair bit behind the average stack. Cry

another good idea in  theory, ends up in farce.

they manage to hack off the mugs that bothered to rack up 1000 points by making them re-register (and contrary to the official thread i deffo DID NOT GET AN EMAIL TELLING ME I HAD TO DO THIS)  and putting in everyone that made it to the satelitte they had to cancel.

they also hack off a load of people that wanted to just buy in for 55 bucks but couldnt.

so an mtt with an overlay that should have been a successful promo ends with yet more unsatisfied and disgruntled punters.

i said a fortnight ago only allowing one days grace between the end of the qualification period and the mtt itself was a recipe for disaster given what happened in the giveaway promo.

hopefully the penny will drop at some point. anything based on points and the issuing of tickets takes at least a week to get sorted.

possibly longer.

i agree chip, unbelievable carry on. Plus these apology tickets have not been applied to my account what have been promised. I as well never recieved a email stating the re registering. More luck than judgement that i registered again

Betfair, contact s t a r s and organise a trip for some of your staff etc to see how they promptly reply to emails etc and deal with issues.

thanks

thing is betfair tourney mgr posts a thread on here stating everyone had  to re-register, and that everyone who had already registered had been contacted by email to advise them of this.

that simply isn't true, which suggests either bf tourney mgr hasnt a clue whats happening, or he/she is being misled by the staff who were meant to be doing it. and its things like this that crush what last vestige of faith you had in the company.

the promotions themselves are good in principle. bf finally, realising that they need to give something back to their " bread and butter "  customers, the vast majority, that play recreationally for 15-30 hours a week at low to medium stakes. players that have jobs/committments that prevent them having a realistic shot at the leaderboards/rake races.

of course have your aussie millions/wsop promos  for your high end customers, but ffs look after your core customers.

these are the long suffering  brand loyal chumps they should be catering for, and not the pros that drop in once in a blue moon when theres an mtt with an overlay. what these customers want is to log onto a secure site for a few hours a day, have a bit banter at the tables, play a bit of poker, have decent customer support if something goes wrong, and have the odd incentive put their way every now and again.

fancy a job at betfair towers chip?
By:

When: 11 Nov 10 22:08
yeah.

i reckon my first move would be to bin all the betfair pros, apart from tabby who does a decent job.

christ alone knows what they paid annette, but in all honesty how many people watch poker on tv and think, wow she is sponsored by betfair, i must sign up to them ? even if they did how long would they stay ? she didnt even play on it herself most of the time ffs.

waste of money. jeez they already have millions of sports betting punters who would happily play poker here if they could get the customer service and software right.

i've lost count of the number of people i know that have sports betting accounts with bf but play poker elsewhere and when ive asked why they have said, too many disconnections and shyte customer service.

they can spend god knows how much on pro's and advertising but until they get to a position where they are able to retain the core customer and get him/her reccomending the site to others, they are just pishing money up the wall.

dont get  me wrong, this bf tourney fella is trying, and the last few promotions have been good in principle, but ffs get the bloody basics right. if you cant get even simple stuff right at least ensure you have clued up support staff to soften the blow.

theres nowt worse than having a right proper crack at a promotion, only to find you have totally wasted your time  because nobody at bf can get the points to add up, or issue the right ticket, or send  someone a friggin e-mail or answer one. its uber frustrating.

Whilst i agree with pretty much everything you have said Chipfire, don't lose sight of the fact that the Big Apple Final tournament had to be changed due to a problem with OnGame's side of things (from what i gather). That said, going back to a point you made weeks ago, the chances of any problems occurring with this promotion would have been lessened if there was more time allowed between the awarding of tournament tickets and the actual final itself Plain

yeah, that may well be the case but why in that case say :

those registered for the first event had been contacted by email and advised to re-register. this clearly wasnt the case.there was only 60 odd registered when i registered on tuesday afternoon and 3 of those players, including me, DID NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL telling them to re-register.

those who bought in direct and those who qualified via sateliites would be compensated financially by way of apology, but those who actually entered into the  spirit of the promotion and racked up 1000 points by  playing 2 grands worth of stts wouldnt ?

can they not see how hacked off their loyal customers would be  when they have spent 2k on stts and hours upon hours playing the bloody things so they could qualify, only for folk to whinge a bit on the forum and get put in at the last minute for nowt ?

there was 130 registered at 3 o clock wednesday. by 6 o clock i believe that figure was up to 285. go figure ?

its not the first time loads of people have appeared in a bf mtt with a huge overlay at  the last hour.

i do think they are slowly getting things right, but  theres still a complete inability imho to empathise with the regs.
