I was doing well, and made a bad call with AQ - i actually thought it was another donkament tournament I was in - that tilted me a bit, fortunately i won the next flip.

From this position, i would have to get unlucky not to win a package.

im just annoyed that betfair wont do any satelites to the high rollers event!

Yes i've often wondered why they put details of them on the site, but no satellites. I'm assuming its because the organisers of the actual event are preventing them from doing so, for some reason? Perhaps they don't allow any online qualifications to the high rollers?

they dont fill up so end up with a lot of overlay

silly thing is - they should offer 2 complete packages to vienna in a weekly final as opposed to 4 small ones.

a 270 euro event that costs you £600 in expenses is pure madness.

Im going for the party - the poker is a side show for me - but if highrollers was on offer - i would be going for the right reasons.

Yeah well i'm always up for a party, but also want to see how i fare in a live event as well, as i've only ever played in games organised in local pubs, and cash games at the casino.

Why you reckon it'd cost you £600 in expenses? I know you get $525 (about £300) towards it, which would cover flights & a few night in a hotel surely?

flights £150 maybe £200.
hotel - 100 - 150 euros a night.
general expenses, trains or car park etc.

i could go to dusktilldawn, play a 100K gtee for 300 buy in and have no side costs as its 30min drive from me.

so ... the theory is that there is no logical sense to do the vienna adventure other than for the adventure itself. if u got a poker festival, why not get players involved in all the games as opposed to the one 270 euro one?

ANYWAYS - still 7 players left and i am chippy on 35,000 so this looks a nap bet now!

absolutely nothing wrong with that mate, but two or three days traveling is an expense consumed in time for me. would do it as an adventure - however i am going to prague in november, and then a week later going to vienna so all things being equal, we need to fly!

Yeah i realise that, and time is an issue for me as well. As is finances as well, i'll only be going if i have a good November. If it turns out like October has shaped up to be, then i'll have to forget Vienna (unless i do manage to win a package)

Yeah i'm gutted i wasn't in this tonight, was good value with only 21 entries, quite a bit of overlay. Would have been worthwhile even just buying straight in.

irony is - i entered the $5 game just to win the ticket to the final!!! now i have the package in hand from this betfair community promo and betfair will milk it for everything its worth.

If they want a Community Forum Promotion out of it - with photographs and supporting article - then a highrollers seat is a must!
