Hi,

So tuesday at 7 pm, do I just come to the forum or follow this threat, what do I have to do to take part in this? Just today I sent a big email to support since I would really like to stay at Betfair but i cant seem to win money no matter how solid I play.

I agree with KONY. Takes ages to get any reply, and the info is usually wrong. Been waiting for ages for an explanation why I am not getting my rakeback. As of now I cannot even log in and not getting any support whatsoever.

So often I am told that things are being referred to 'the poker team'. Well why can't we have a helpline that leads directly to this elusive team? I mean what is the point of routing everything to a bunch of 1 watt brains that dont even know what we are talking about?

The 30-40% rakeback deal / does it stand that players who cake £1500 or more continue to get 40%?

BFwingding2 made a comment that his rakeback appears to be 30% where it should have been 40% for the wc promo he signed up to. I recon this needs to be clarified.

Maltesers tend to melt easily with the slightest of heat or contact with people.  They are also very light and fluffy inside and know feck all about poker or customer service.

Can you confirm your colleagues are also made by Mars confectionary or is it merely a coincidence?

Can it be confirmed whether or not Betfair Poker can indeed organise a p1ss up in a brewery or not?  And if they can, is it possible to do it with more than a couple of hours notice?

Blue and White Army - I can confirm that our staff are not made by Mars although our support team is based in malta and thus they are officially Maltesers.

ajcairns - It is not as easy as you would think to organise a piss up in a brewery. Although there are trips round breweries they only give you small samples at the end thus making it very difficult to get drunk unless you snaffle everyone else's!

I am however organising a pissup in a night club (TigerTiger) for our launch party at WSOPE on 16th September. If you are all nice I might throw some tickets in the direction of the forum.

LaughLaugh

I started playing poker a year ago and having come from the sports side and being a complete beginner you would think I would be someone to encourage.  Customer service was hopeless on even the simplest of requests.  After about a few weeks I was beginning to know more than them, not difficult.  I learned more from this forum than from them.

A year on and they are still giving out the wrong information - or none at all.  I must state though that my complaints do not apply to all at malta.  There are a few good ones, namely ED, and a few others.  However, I always seem to get the ones that let the rest of them down. There is one in particular that to every question always says she does not know but will ring me back - she never does.

You must have staff at Malta that play poker themselves, it is not enough just to teach them the basics.  As I said, after just a few weeks I knew more than most of the ones I spoke to.

Just on the 6th August I was told that the rake was divided amongst those who remained in the pot after the flop.  Later, replies to my  emails have said that the rake is divided by the essence system and noone has replied to my email about exactly how does the essence system work.

I have just secured 10 pairs of tickets for forumites to go to our WSOPE Launch Party on 16th September Party at Tiger Tiger (see separate thread) and I am going to make it interesting.

You have to vote for someone else from the forum and in under 40 charaters tell me why they deserve to go to the party. The person with the most votes and/or the best answers gets invited.

Example:

I want Annie to come to the Betfair WSOPE launch party because.......I want to see if she is really a woman ;-)

I want The Klup to come to the Betfair WSOPE launch party because ......while he is out partying I might win a SNG on BF Poker

Second the bigger fonts. If it's some kind of "works for most" issue you could make it optional/customizable. Some of the texts are quite hard to see as they tend to blur together. Much appreciated if you could enhance this.

Can it be confirmed whether or not Betfair Poker can indeed organise a p1ss up in a brewery or not?

I can confirm that they do indeed organise very good piss up's.

I particulaly enjoyed the pairs poker event. Which started off with watching a rugby match/free bar/mountains of bar snacks for a few hours and then ended in a pairs poker tournement.

Initially I was sceptical about the 'pairs' format as poker is generally an individualists game but as it turned out the few hours drinking before the tournement really loosened up peoples inhibitions and the actuality of playing for 15 minutes then the whole table is tag teamed off to the bar for another pint and socialing with each other for 15 minutes, Turned it into one of the most enjoyable poker nights I've ever had.

I Think the Betfair Poker Piss up organisers ( Simon, Racheal, Martin I Love you :) ) were slightly disillusioned by the low(ish) turn out but I'd urge you to go further/try again  with this format
( Watch Sporting event, lots and lots of drinking....... then FUN tournement)
As I think it has a lot of potential for a good evening out ( Which I believe is one of your motivations )

I'd go as far a suggesting that the payout structure could have been flattened considerably. Whilst I am exceedingly happy and greatful for the £1,000 each my partner and I recieved for 1st place, I'm sure we would have been 99.5% as happy to have recieved £500 or even £300 and that would have meant alot more places could have gone away winning ( and hence had a little extra joy/fun ).

So my reccomendations should you decide to organise another pairs event are:
Base it on a sporting event.
Emphasise the FUN/Socialising element of the night with a FUN poker tournement thrown in at the end.
Make sure there is plenty of drinking time before the poker.
Flatten the payout structure.

Thanks again for a great evening

All this thread has told me so far is.....

if you have a problem do not ring the waste of space and oxygen that is the helpdesk/customer services but send an email to prteam@betfair.com and it will get sorted out.

When will you realise that customer service is very improtant and Betfair Poker is just simply the worst at it in the industry.  It is no good you sorting out the few disgruntled customers that shout about it on the forum as the vast majority of disgruntled customers don't use the forum and just feck off to a poker site that treats them like they are actually important.

BetfairPokerPR, who are you and/or how senior are you within the poker department?

Please also are you able to state the layout of the poker department? As I understand from previous dealings there is a sole poker manager, the main man who makes all important decisions (Would I also be right in saying he is contactable by email only internally?). Below him there are several poker managers who have less authority and need to contact the main manager for important decisions, customers can speak to them but only in escalated disputes. At the bottom of the hierarchy are the front-line staff who first deal with questions and queries. Finally there is another Promotions Department who deal with promotions and/or rakeback?

I am the Head of International PR for Betfair across all products (poker, casino and sport) and have worked in poker for 10 years. My experience includes promoting the 888.com brand in the UK when they launched and setting up the GUKPT whilst I was working for Blue Square and Grosvenor. I have been working for Betfair for over two years.

I am not going to disclose exact details of our poker team however, we have a head of poker and separate teams for promotions, product affiliates and tournaments. We also have country managers who look after players in their respective region. All teams are authorised to make changes and decisions and are experts in their fields. Problems raised through our help desk are normally dealt with by them directly however, for larger problems the specialised deaprtment or country manager responsible is consulted before acting to resolve issues.

Tonight on our Q & A the Head of Poker, Head of Tournaments, Head of Promotions and myself will be participating.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your answer. I have 2 brief questions re: the new software;

1) Will waiting lists be introduced? If you multi-table it is almost impossible to play properly without them and it is frustrating, it is fastest finger first to sit down at a table when somebody leaves. I read previously that OnGame said waiting lists stop people starting new tables but I think a common-sense compromise would be to have waiting lists restricted to a certain number of people and also to limit the number of tables a player can wait for.

2) Will player location be displayed ever? Will any player search facility ever be incorporated into the software?

The above issues (excluding player location) are the simple software issues that have caused me to stop playing on betfair and I am sure many other players feel waiting lists are needed and some kind of search player facility would be handy.

The main issue though is the ESSENCE rakeback system which I am sure many people will ask about. Can you explain how it works? If you don't know then please say so as that will be better than ignoring questions and/or attempting to blag an answer [;)]
