I hope you all had a very profitable weekend on the tables.
Make a note in your diaries for this Wednesday 1st September, for the inaugural Betfair Poker Community Tournament. Specifically for the Betfair poker community, the tournament is password protected and has $250 ADDED to the prize pool.
What’s more, we want YOU to be bounties!
Any player that wants to volunteer to be a bounty, please reply to this thread with ’Bounty + your Betfair Poker nickname’, and on Wednesday afternoon we will select four aliases at random to be the community bounties. Selected bounties will be posted on the forum around 4 hours before the tournament starts.
Bounties will each receive a $20 + $2 tournament ticket for their troubles and there will be a $20 + $2 tournament ticket on their head for whoever can knock them out of the Community tournament.

Weekend round-up:
It was another strong performance from Team Betfair in the $200,000 GTD ChampionChip this weekend, with six Betfair players featuring in the top 20, cashing for in excess of $40,000! Leading the charge were Slaven11, finishing in a brilliant 2nd place for a massive $22,668, and filis7979 finishing in 5th place for an $8,887 payday. Johnboys2 had the unenviable title of being the first player eliminated after running his AQ into HonkTheDonk’s pocket Aces on a Queen high board, two minutes into the tournament.
The $200,000 GTD ChampionChip takes pace weekly on Sundays at 18:15 UK time. Buy-in is $190 + $10 or you can qualify on Betfair Poker 2 from $5.50 via multi-table qualifiers or from $1 via Sit ‘n’ Go Steps satellites.
$12,000 GTD Nightly Rehab
Congratulations to kl0_23 who took down the $12K Nightly rehab last night, winning just under $3,500! Other notable finishes in this tournament from the past week include: __dp__, rose123, boycs01, Pepper Army and Graaiknuist.
$40,000 Euro Grand Prix
Sadly, alias &&&&&&&&&&& just missed out on pole position in the $40K Grand Prix on Saturday, finishing 2nd for $7,623. Hot on his heels was serial MTT casher LegatoBF picking up just shy of $5,500 for his 3rd place finish.
WSOPE
Congratulations to E V V O & dinamoz who both won $2,150 packages to WSOPE Event 3 on Sunday night. There now only 2 chances left to win your package the World Series of Poker Europe. The next $215 qualifier to WSOPE Event 3 takes place this Sunday 5th Sept at 16:00 UK Time and there are 2 X $2,150 Packaged GUARANTEED. Qualification is available now on Betfair Poker 2 starting from just 50c!

Nice little promotion, betfair, although I think the buy in could have been a little higher. I rarely play mtts because they go on for so long, so small buy ins only make that worse. Any chance of having mtts that do not last forever?

I just hope there are not too many entrants, though I doubt it
I have just been playing on another site and they have totally revamped their site today - it is brilliant. Compared to betfair it is a rolls royce to their reliant robin
I always start playing here on betfair, but end up getting so annoyed about no waiting lists, no 2000 stacks, no 6 max and most importantly not being able to make notes that I invariably end up on my other site. You start playing on the 5 max here and they are forever breaking down due to just 5 players and no waiting lists. I do not want to play against just one or two other people.

In the interests of complete impartiality, the Betfair Poker random draw Trilby will be retired and we will be taking the THE_KLUP's advice by creating a live on-line sweepstake that all players can watch, which will determine whom the bounty players will be.
- The deadline for bounty volunteers will be Wednesday 1st Sept at 10am UK time. - The live online draw will take place at 16:00 UK time - link to the draw will be posted on forum around 11am UK time. - Bounty players will be posted within a dedicated community bounty thread on the forum - All tournament tickets will be credited on the morning of Thursday 2nd Sept.
I have tested this and it worked fine however, in case of technical difficulties, we will revert to the tried and trusted method of names in a hat.
FYI - some people in the test run were not able to see the draw live, but after refreshing their browser the results came up.
Good luck!

One point though, why do we have to give our alias in this and other promotions? You can trace who I am from my name above, so why the need for the alias? I will not enter for the bounty as I do not want to give out my alias - I get enough grief on here, I do not want it at the tables as well

Can you tell me, de 1, where on this thread I have moaned? On the contrary I praised betfair for doing an online draw.
It seems to me that if I critize it is classed at moaning, but if a man does it it is constructive critism. I have never seen a reply to all the posters who have critized the new betfair being told they are moaning
And I still play on betfair. I have spent the last couple of hours playing on betfair, so I feel entitled to critize. If you don't ask you don't get, do you?
I noticed that in almost five years you have replied only 395 times on the forums, so I do not think you are in any position to judge me. You seem to have a problem with women, as so many on the forums do

de 1 - no I'm picking on you because in your previous two posts you had FOUR moans

Now if you want to see some real moaning go to any of the rakeback threads. Wink That's proper moaning - manly style - I suppose. Laugh
EXACTLY, AKABULA
If I critize it is moaning, if men critize it is normal
Betfair wants us to tell them where they are going wrong. It was probably listening to a bunch of @rse lickers that led them to choose ongame and not some decent site.
Bruce Willis repeating my ADVICE to betfair as moaning shows just how stupid he is. So we should all just say 'oh betfair how wonderful you are' - whilst playing elsewhere.
I still play on betfair nearly every day for a few hours, usually. I believe in giving changes a try and I have really tried to like this site but I am finding I am playing more on my other site. I do feel a loyalty to betfair as it is where I first started playing poker and have fond memories of old betfair. But changes need to be made.
Judging by how empty the forum is nowadays I suspect they have lost a lot of custom since the 'DOWNGRADE'.

Can someone give me an idea of how long the tourney tonight would last?
Say it had a hundred entries, how long with 2500 starting stack and 12 minute blinds? And for 200,300, 400 etc? The last time I was in a mtt it lasted hours and hours and completely put me off. By the end I just waited until I cashed something and then went all in at the slightest excuse It does not help either that I usually go to bed around 11/12 so would not be at my best to play, and I usually have a drink in the evening too - a recipe for disaster

It is weird that I can happily play sngs and cash for hours, but a tourney for hours puts me off. I suppose that is because you cannot escape from a tourney whereas a sng only lasts 75 mins max and cash you can leave whenever you like. I particularly like cash because if someone phones me I can just finish that hand and talk to them.

But akabula, outing myself is just not for the tourney is it? It means whenever I play everyone will know who I am, and you know how much grief I get on here

Some of the better players on here are female - RedShoes for instance and nobody gives her grief
Come on be a devil I'm sure you are clever enough to put the neanderthal's in their place [;)]

Annie Deny(Quack) and I (Paige199) started games that were Dinkies ( female donks) verses Donkies, we had some great games and even better banter , and many of those players have reg for this game, we have our own dedicated forum on Iloveplayingpoker site, and beleive me from my own experience of abuse at tables most players are knights in shinning armour and soon hound out those idiots.

I agree that the horrible ones are in the minority but my worst stalker on the forums plays poker and I do not want him, and others, knowing my alias. Besides there is hardly any chat at all now on the sngs and cash I play.

Anyway, i ended up running 88 into qq and then 44 into 55 and finished 3rd. 4 hrs for this tourney though was a bit long :D ... bring on the klup challenge as it takes longer! lol

I see that the king on the river entertained many of u... Slow playing the aces was good strategy, i just sucked out to a bad beat...Enjoyed the game though...Spawny klup came to mind... But I appear to be out numbered... GG All who arranged..

how can slow rolling be a good strategy? The other player was all in - i went over the top all in, and the last thing left was for you to call. Instead you tanked your clock and then made the obligatory call.
No strategy involved. If other players were still active in the pot, i would agree with this as good strategy - we no active players, its insulting.

i remember it diffierently klup, but maybe i am wrong... U Still had a large stack of chips and i did not want to put u off folding them if i pushed allin, therefore i just called. preflop then u pushed allin on flop...........just wot i wanted with pp rockets..

i raised, u called, third player ships all in - i go OTT all in, u made the final call - all in pre flop.
Based on your comments, sounds like it was an unintentional slowroll - at the time i thought it was intentional as i was playing a lot of hands and it appeared as if someone was trying to "get back at me" for my laggy style of play.
