1. Can you give us a genuine answer as to specifically what anti-collusion measures are in place? This has been discussed numerous times on here however you have never announced any specific new measures.

I`ve notice you have reduce the 12k gtd hot MMT to 10k today, but not reduced the buy in. In my book the buy in should be reduce by 1/6 th also or do you want to lose more of your customer`s.

2. Are the rumours true? Is Betfair Poker losing it's independence in 2010 (some suggest as soon as this summer)?

When are betfair going to join another network?
If not when is someone going to be appointed who knows what 2 + 2 is, to eliminate all the current dead wood working at betfair, to take on the major evamp it so needs? Joining a network is just one of the many options available to Betfair Poker. We are having a major overhaul of our software over the next few months and will be announcing this soon. Hoepfully this will go a long way to fixing many of our users current problems. With regard to 2+2 we have hired the head moderator Mike Haven (who posts under the alias FairHaven) who monitors and posts on our behalf. This relationship has been in place for the last 4 months and is working well. All enquiries are fed to senior management and are dealt with within 24 hours. We have answered over 120 queries to date! |

You have given repeated assurances that 'you listen', have held numerous Q&A sessions, and received many hundreds of suggestions from your loyal players. However, why are some of the most basic, easy-to-fix bugs/problems with the software still, after all this time, present, to the immense frustration of your regular players?
You will of course be aware of these numerous issues, however if not: - Still no auto refill available on cash games - 'Ghosting' in the lobbies, where the information on 'tourney 1' is displayed in 'tourney 2's lobby - Over the last four or five years since betfair took over pokerchamps software on the omaha cash tables an underraise often incorrectly counts as a reraise. Poker team and management have had this brought to their attention dozens of times during this period yet the matter has still not been rectified etc etc etc Without repeating the usual 'we are always working hard to improve' responses, can you give us any genuine reasons why so many of these problems remain unfixed? |

I sent a list of problems to the Betfair rep and he told me/us to ask them at this forum Q & A: Well, the good news is that Betfair Poker is having another of its real time Q&A sessions on June 7th, on its own players' forum. If you have a specific question about collusion, or software, or whatever, please feel free to join them. The Heads of Poker, Poker Fraud, and Poker Software Development will be attending. You can ask them your questions personally, and receive immediate answers from them. MH |

Assuming bf poker moves to another network, what reason would I have to play on the said network considering that if I wished to play there already I would've done so and there will undoubtedly be better offers available elsewhere?

Exactly how many of your male members of staff has The Klup slept with?

Btw can you please answer the questions properly, rather than insulting our intelligence by replying with vague answers that state obvious facts and in fact reveal nothing of any worth?

Mavis - this question comes up a lot in our Q & A's and we try and answer as openly and honestly as we can. We have a dedicated collusion team that monitors our poker room. We also have the latest and most up to date software to prevent collusion and cheating on the site. (It is not in our best interest to allow this to happen!) We cannot give numbers on people caught however if you have a case you would like to run past us please get as much information as possible and call our help desk. Whatever the result you will be informed of the decision. When a party is found guilty we will ban them and return funds to affected parties. This has and will continue to be the case going forward. |

We have asked our maths guys to run the numbers on this and they are scratching their heads....they have never seen a number with so many zeros! [:x] |

Sorry to be pedantic --- but i think that The Southerner was actually refering to 2+2 equalling 4 as opposed to the 2+2 forum - but credit for the lateral thinking ;) |

If you have such a dedicated collusion team then why has no one ever received a refund for being in a colluded game, either when they complained themselves or unprompted?
|
By:
That doesn't answer the question though, players are VERY interested to know specifically what measures you have in place. As you'll recall, collusion was one of the most important issues brought up previously. If you could be specific, I am sure it would put a lot of very worried minds at rest.

Hi UpYoursOk We understand your point with regards to the reduction in the $12k GTD but currently that tourney is running with overlays that are unsustainable with the WSOP and World Cup getting underway. We still want to add value in the form of overlay but we also need to be able to fund our other promotions such as all of our Football Frenzy promotions. Reducing the buy-in would not reduce the overlays and allow us to do this. As soon as the World Cup and WSOP are over we will be increasing our MTT guarantees schedule above where they are today. |

Q. How can you say you ban players when recently i complained about 2 colluders who's alias have ceased playing after complaints but have just started playing under almost identical usernames from probabaly the same cafe in Cyprus?
|

This simply isn't true. There are lots of people that have received refunds. You can check 2+2 where just the other day someone wrote a post outlining his experience and the fact that he received funds within 48hours after complaining. |
By:
You are quick to talk about your many promotions that you run. However, can you give players who participate in these your assurances that you will not 'move the goalposts' in the final few days of any promotion? You will no doubt be aware of the uproar this causes, when players who have qualified for a package, or a prize, then find out (via the forum) that you have changed the rules of the promotion with just a few days to go.
Can you give any reasons why this has happened so many times before, and assure us that it is not going to be common practice going forward? |
By:
(I am sure I speak for the majority here re. collusion measures)
If you could give specific details of what is in place to stop collusion on your site then I am sure it would give a lot more confidence to your players that you are policing the poker site as it should be. You mention 'the latest software' and 'a dedicated anti collusion team'. Can you elaborate on this? |

can we go back to MTTs 16k gtd $109 buy in, 11k gtd $77 buy in, 5k deepstack $55 buy in as your new HOT tourney schedule is obviously not working so can we go back to what is was 3 yrs ago when everybody was happy and liked bf poker, PLEASE?

I enjoy playing mtts. What mtts with a decent buy in, a decent structure and a good number of runners can you reccommend on bf poker? I do not want to play turbos or rapids.

I think this is a fair criticism, however, we cannot stop people opening new accounts under similar aliases. What I would say is that if a person opens up a new account with the same billing addres and/ or credit card this will automatically alert our fraud team who would not allow them to play until they are investigated. If you believe these people to be the same users then please contact our help desk to protect our customers. Cheaters often find numerous way to open up new accounts and it is a constant battle to try and prevent them from doing so. |

I would like to second Mavis' feedback here
I think there is too much emphasis on pushing out promos too quickly and sometimes only advertised after they started. This leads to errors and reduces the credibility. Maybe you need pay a few few players to work with you on some of your bigger promos so that they will consider the potential loop holes before you fire them off. The WCWSOP team event is something I bounced off a few players for advice and I must say that FLOP IT had some awesome advice - he would be one I strongly suggest you consider to employ in these situations. |

The massive lag caused by your software means that is is practically impossible to effectively multi table, especially for those using a HUD etc.
This has been a well known issue since the software came out, yet, incredibly, the problem remains unresolved!! What have you done in the last 4 years to try to combat this serious problem? |
By:
I would like to know why you used my picture saying you had given me a threedom pass, for making a final table of bapta. Then after using my image for 2 months contact me say it was a mistake but to compensate me you will give me $500 in entrance fees, then blank me for next 3 months until i give up refusing to return my calls on a number of occaisions after saying someone will contact you.And too this day ive not recieved my $500 or one call.

Hi Mavis The biggest issues have been the ones you do not see anymore. Instability used to be the one biggest issue, and we’re happy to say that it isn’t anymore. Enhancing capacity and reliability of our services have required quite some effort unfortunately. We are now happy to say it is time to alter focus! -the ghosting bugs me too! |

Why does Betfair still pay 'pr0p players' to 'start up' stts (with hugely enhanced rakeback deals) despite almost 100% negative feedback about this issue? Looking in the lobby now, there are several stts with prop players registered.

All your promos are for people who rake 40,000 pounds in 3 months and you run almost nothing for anyone who does not do this other than some cash bonuses that are irrevlent for anyone with rakeback. why are you not doing more to keep your middle rakers which will form the biggest % of your regular players?

We had a user with a similar problem last week. Our helpdesk tried several things including re-installing (after deleting cookies) the software. If this doesnt work please call our helpdesk and I am confident they will be able to fix this. |

Regardless of whether Betfair were to move to a network or not the question is still: why play on Betfair and not another site? We try to offer the best possible value in our promotions (both to VIPs and the regular players), our live events are a lot of fun and everyone seems to be enjoying them. We think we’re one of the easiest sites to deposit to and withdraw from and we have an excellent customer service team. In addition to all of that no matter where Betfair Poker lives there will always be a lot of softer players from the exchange playing at our tables. |

When are you going to recruit staff that actually understand poker and in particular your poker? I have only been playing poker for seven months so I have had to phone malta on numerous occasions - with appalling results. They never know the answer to simple questions and always say they have to refer it onwards and 'someone will call you back'. THEY NEVER DO.
Only yesterday I rang malta and asked how the 'flop' figure was calculated in the lobby headings. I have only just started playing cash and I wanted an exact description of this figure. The first young man did not know, a simple question I would have thought, and asked me to hold on as he had to refer it to the games team!!!! Then a woman came on, they are usually far worse than the men, and she did not know either (SURPRISE SURPRISE). She then said the immortal words 'someone will ring you back'.When I said that noone ever rings me back, she promised faithfully that someone would. I am still waiting. I would have thought that I, as a sportsbook customer trying poker, would have been the type of customer you would encourage. Sadly this has not been the case. |
