A good rule of thumb to observe is to have at the very least 20 buyins. However the higher you play the more buyins you should have for each level. For 6 tabling .5/1 i would recommend having a 3k roll.

Lots of things to take into account, obviously a winning player that plays for fun needs a far smaller roll than a break even/losing player that has to take a wage.3k is nowhere near enough though.

when i first started 4tabling plo .5/1 my bankroll was at 1500 and i found it pretty swingy, i would say 1500 is good for nl holdem (obv more for 6tabling)
it wasnt till i got to about 2.3k i felt alot more comfortable and gave me alot more freedom

my bankrolls for the above is in pounds sterling, yet the game stakes are in dollars
