I was half asleep last night when I was sailing around the COVERS site.

This message had come up a few times the past week saying how I had to upgrade my flash to properly use the site.

I stupidly hit the link rather than going to adobe.

Sure enough, after downloading set-up, got invaded with more viruses than a dirty brothel.  Malware, adware, pop ups.

Every time I touch my browser, it opened an ad.

It even hijacks your google so when you search, it pops up ads.

You also end up with bubble dock on your desktop.

The list was huge and they were well-buried, some implanting themselves in my chrome extensions.

The other trick is they put a date from a year or so ago so when you scan for downloads TODAY, they didn't show (though they did show in ADD OR REMOVE).

About ninety minutes to clean up the PC and no lasting damage.

I sent what I knew to a spamware tech I know.  He confirmed it is embedded in the site and will appear after 12 to 15 clicks depending on where you are, creating an illusion you can't view the site without the upgrade.

He says they would be aware of this and not a hack.

Ignore the upgrade.

Thanks. It is a good site otherwise. One time my little nephew clicked on a ESPN score site as you indicated. That computer was toast afterwards. Just don't know where they are. Sports video programs on first row and others can be bad too.
