Ok, ok, dodgy etiquette to start the match thread when I do not have a position in this one (even though an Eagle fan).

Logically I think the Saints will win, the poor road team thing is over-done and is a bit of a rallying call for them I think. Brees is a top tier QB, Foles is all potential.

Saints are an experienced play-off team, Eagles are not and funny enough are a better road team than home teamShocked.

So that's it...... Saints it is.

Ehmm, not quite....there is something to this away form for the Saints, (listened to a few podcasts and picked-up on something and followed it up)...Brees throw, while accurate its not fast with a spiral that cuts through the air and reduces accuracy and pace outdoors and in cold weather. So its a real thing.

Saints defense ranked 4(?) didn't look that good whenever I saw it live - plus poor-ish against the run.......McCoy is looming, spells trouble!!

Eagles defense awful, but improving....its not play-off calibre - fact.

I could go on and on......just don't know.

Anyone certain about this, apart from Clay?Confused

Our time will come Wallflower just not this year! Can't believe the saints price here! Yes they've lost 5 games on the road this year but losing in Seattle, Carolina, New England and St. Louis is hardly poor form. Think the weather and overall road form of saints has been massively over egged here. As we speak the saints are better than us in pretty much every facet of the game and most importantly for me they have an experienced coach and qb who are used to these big playoff games. The eagles have got better as the seasons gone on but we've played a much inferior schedule and I think the pressure of an expectant crowd tonight won't help us either. Ill be delighted if I'm wrong and the eagles win but I think that the who dat nation are must bet material at 6/4 and will prevail.

From that excellent blog again Silly

You have to fade the Saints with Brees on the road in cold weather. Even with all that power on offense (expect Jimmy Graham to give Mychal Kendricks and his buddies a torrid time) the Saints' superlative slinger just doesn't thrive when the mercury drops below 40 degrees and it's currently 27.

The Eagles have really gathered momentum coming into this game, although they seemed to lose concentration last week and Rob Ryan will have noted the pressure that was brought to bear on Nick Foles. Interestingly, it doesn't pay to play all out blitz too much against Foles, who has a 125 passer rating against the blitz, and with the peerless LeSean McCoy running and catching out of the backfield, Ryan will need to be at his devilish best to out-scheme this offense.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ 1.91

Pick: 1st TD LeSean McCoy @ 8
Pick: Anytime TD Riley Cooper @ 2.2

Saints over 25.5 for me....think the Saints are overpriced on the moneyline as well.

Saints fav for me but I'm not buying into the hot Eagles hype and if Brees can't get that O going is this weather he isn't a HOF QB.

... For me this is watch and see (but cheer for Eagles)..... how can anyone anticipate what will happen here. Heard Golic and Schlereth saying this week Eagles are the most mystifying team in the NFL. I agree.

After the last game, a couple of non-scoring drives is a bit of a letdown.

Shaping up to be a close one so far.
