Report Smashingtime October 24, 2011 11:53 PM BST
Yeah I like the fact Baltimore score a few, but as you say Jacksonville scoring in teens and against solid defence, Taken over 24 Baltimore points instead at 10/11, fingers crossed for 28-14 Baltimore.

Small bet on Ravens -10 for me !!!

€80 on Torrie Smith first TD and €20 on Boldin as a saver !!

Will wait in-running before having a large bet !!

Would rather back Jaguars over 14.5 than the overs !!

Can't see Baltimore scoring over 30 points and Im a Ravens fan !!

Helps being a Ravens fan, still not impressed with Flacco at QB !!

Offence non-existent 2day but defence as good as ever !!

Really felt that the Jaguars would have to score 14+ to get close to a 40 point game !!

Could be a 14-10 type game at this rate !!

this result really suprised me

I looked at the stats and saw that Rice only had 8 carries, thought he must have gone of injured?

Seems that he didn't

WTF were they thinking? Shocked
Report orioles October 25, 2011 3:53 PM BST
When you bet on football, there'll be a couple of games a year when you just can't figure out what on earth the HC's gameplan was.

We had Ray Rice, one of the game's best all around backs, up against a team that has had its ass kicked in the last four games on the ground, and John Harbaugh decides to hand him the ball 3 times in the first half, despite the fact Flacco is standing like a statue in the pocket (and the Jags' secondary are giving the Ravens all sorts of trouble deep) and the only possible way the offense is going to get going, is if the Jags have to at least start respecting the run.

This continues until the fourth quarter, when he starts to get carries, and Baltimore begins to move the chains (although the sight of a slightly bewildered looking Flacco wandering up to the line of scrimmage as the clock ticks down will stay with me for a couple of days) but it's much too late, and the third ranked team in the NFL has been seen off by the 29th.

Yards per carry for MJD (105yds total) as against Ray Rice (28)?

Exactly 3.5 each.

Terrell Suggs post-game:

"It baffles me that Ray Rice only had seven carries [actually eight]," Ravens veteran defensive end Terrell Suggs said. "This is a Pro Bowl running back you're talking about. They fed their horse. We have to feed our horse. It's all right, just calling a spade a spade."

"I don't really know what the game plan was," he said. "When I have a Pro Bowl running back, and he's not getting his touches, I'm going to feel some kind of way about it. He wants the ball. And I think we should feed him. Ray Rice is a phenomenal player. You have to use your phenomenal players. I have to question how many touches Anquan [Boldin] had. We've got guys on this team that can do some great things. We have to use those guys. It's that simple."

From SBNation:

Suggs isn't alone in being confused ... Flacco clearly wasn't moving the ball through the air, with the Ravens not converting a first down until most of the way through the third quarter. So why go multiple possessions in a row without giving Rice the ball? And why wait until third-and-long until doing so?

Harbaugh has six long days to mull that one over.

And my £2 is flushed Sad

"For a moment I thought Jimmy Vaccaro had gone senile.

“I know the Ravens are playing,” the legendary oddsmaker told Covers.com when asked about Monday Night Football action.  “I don’t know the other team because I haven’t heard anyone bet ‘em yet.”

Vaccaro, director of Lucky’s Sports Book, opened the Ravens at -8 over the Jaguars. He moved the line to -10 and expects it to go over that key number to 10.5.

Bettors believe Ray Lewis, Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs, Ed Reed and company are about to give rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert his welcome-to-the-NFL baptism.

It’s the same story at Caesars Palace, where the line jumped from 7.5 to 10.

“We’re drawing all Ravens action all the time,” Race and sports analyst Todd Fuhrman told Covers.com. “We’ll be rooting for Jacksonville from start to finish.”

Fuhrman moved the first-half line all the way from Baltimore -4.5 to -7.

But he said he’s reluctant to go to 10.5 on the game “unless the public money becomes too much for us to absorb. Then you open up the middle between 7.5 and 10.5 and create a lot more exposure.”

Anyone wanting to bet Jacksonville – if you’re out there – should wait until close to kickoff, Vaccaro said. The Saints’ demolition of the Colts last night means more people are piling on the favorite’s bandwagon."

any chance THEY got at harbaugh? it's quite baffling.
