I’m not going to blow my own trumpet but that was a pretty nice set of Northwest Masters tips which yielded a splendid return on the weekend. I even got lucky yesterday when I got home late and tipped Max Laurie in the last race bumper at Towcester in a monthly naps competition I play in:
21/11/2010 15:50, Towcester, Max Laurie – 396 pts (1st of 13 at 33/1).
I believe I shot up from about 68th place to 9th in the table :D
Today’s Welsh wizardry comes from Ffos Llas:

3.35 Ffos- Normandy Landings (e/w).
4.05 Ffos- Miss Hippy & Tea Shot (e/w).
Saturday was the Paul Nicholls roadshow as his charges went in all over the country. Then at Haydock, Imperial Commander had his seasonal reappearance and landed the Betfair Chase followed in by gallant runner-up Tidal Bay.
Three winners on this blog yesterday but once again a disappointing Saturday readership. If you want to give out pearls of wisdom definitely don’t do it on a Saturday![]
Today’s tips are from the NW Masters Part II at Aintree:

Firstly can I thank you all for reaching the 38,000 hits milestone overnight (Mull It Over online blog). I know most of those probably arrive via web searches for Helen Flanagan, Chat Roulette and the phenomenon that is Kimiko Date Krumm but I’d like to think there is the odd punter out there amongst you.
Over the last few days I’ve been suffering from bloggers depression if there is such a condition? Aside from the fancies on here, my own separate bets on various sports have been having a torrid time. As I write I’ve got a bet on Brisbane Roar to beat NQ Fury @ 1.5 odds . It’s top versus bottom in the Australian “A” League and at half time Roar are trailing 1-0. This is a perfect example of my woeful bad luck and bad judgement at the moment. Fingers crossed for the second...
Did you ever have one of those punting days when you thought “That’s enough-no more!”? Well that was my day yesterday. 100/1 winners (against my fancies) , football teams losing 4-3 after leading 3-1 and so on turned the day into a miserable Thursday. In fact, I’m personally considering a no-punt Thursday for myself because I’ve noticed (and my account stats prove it) that it’s a complete jinx of a day for some reason. How weird! []
Today’s non apocalyptic fancies are from Exeter which is described as HEAVY:
12.45 Ex- Pateese & Setters Princess (e/w).
1.15 Ex- Le Beau Bai (e/w).
1.50 Ex- Watamu Bay (win).
2.25 Ex- Diamond Brook (win).
3.00 Ex- Wheels Up (win).
3.35 Ex- Posh Emily (e/w).
A few problems on the main PC this morning which keeps crashing and giving me the blue screen of death, so I’m doing a makeshift post on the laptop. Computers hey! [:plain:]
Today’s fancies are from Hereford:
1.00 Here- Franklino (win) & Ultravox (small e/w).
1.30 Here- Galant Eye (e/w).
2.00 Here- Sumner (e/w).
2.30 Here- Dusk & Midnight Appeal (e/w).
3.00 Here- Fleur De Vassy (win).
3.30 Here- Robinson Collonges (win).
4.00 Here- Varkala & Miss Zippy (e/w).
Vienna! [:silly:]
Hex is a board game played on a hexagonal grid, theoretically of any size and several possible shapes, but traditionally as an 11×11 rhombus. [:silly:]
Well Fakenham turned into a board game of chance yesterday as the results were just bizarre. Faltering favourites and outsiders were the order of the day and to top it off comedy Tommo was doing the commentary and he thought it was a hoot! []
Today’s five star hexagonals come from Hexham:
1.10 Hex- Lackamon & Monsoon Music (e/w).
1.40 Hex- Glenwood Knight (win).
2.10 Hex- Delightfully & Manoubi (e/w).
2.40 Hex- Belon Gale (win).
3.10 Hex- Against The Wind & Innominate (e/w).
3.40 Hex- Manxman (e/w).
Hold on to your hats in the wind []
Fakenham gets the go ahead nod today after an inspection for frost so that’s good news all around. Yesterday reaped a couple of winners so hopefully I won’t buck that trend today and try and land that first race for the third day running. [:silly:]
1.00 Fake- Satindra (e/w).
1.30 Fake- Fongoli (e/w).
2.00 Fake- Gulf Punch (e/w).
2.30 Fake- Film Festival (win).
3.00 Fake- Kinkeel (e/w).
3.30 Fake- Luthien (e/w).
Yesterday started off with so much promise in the first race at I tipped up the winner @13/2. The afternoon kind of fizzled out thereafter as Forpadytheplasterer came second as per usual and then everything else tapered off.
Today’s fancies are from Plumpton:
1.00 Plump- Union Island (win).
1.30 Plump -Gee Dee Nen (e/w).
2.00 Plump- Jetnova (e/w).
2.30 Plump- Amble Forge (e/w).
3.00 Plump- Where’s Johnny (e/w).
3.30 Plump- Mister Pink (e/w).
4.00 Plump- Ballabrace (win).
Unless you’re called Josh, have a relative called Josh or you’re an avid Twiston-Davies fan then I very much doubt whether you backed the all the way leader Little Josh @ 20/1 yesterday in the Paddy Power Gold Cup.
I hope none of you were daft enough to pay to watch the boxing last night between Audrey & Little Dave? SKY and the media whipped up this non event into a spectacle it was never going to be to grab your hard earned dosh. Audrey was just in it for the money and he never threw a punch. It’s reported a seven year old mugged him for his dinner money today []
Onto more pressing matters and the fancies from Cheltenham today:
1.10 Chelt- Ghizao (e/w).
1.45 Chelt- Forpadydeplasterer (win).
2.20 Chelt- General Miller, Culcabock & Leslingtaylor (e/w).
2.55...
It’s Paddy Power Gold Cup day today at Cheltenham which most of us still remember as the Mackeson Gold Cup. I always recall as a sixth former running a sweep stake for this race and also getting my dad to back Multum In Parvo for me for obvious reasons [:silly:]
I’m just slightly late with this write up this morning as I’m watching online the final of the Asian Champions League between Seongnam Ilhwa & Zob Ahan. I’m with the Korean side who lead at half time 1-0. Fingers crossed!
Yesterday I only managed a win on Dave’s Dream and a place on Knowhere so here’s hoping for better on day two at Cheltenham.
12.50 Chelt- Architrave & Zakeeta (e/w).
1.20 Chelt- Chicago Grey & Cannington Brook (e/w).
1.55 Chelt- From Dawn To Dusk & Ballyfitz (e/w).
2.35 Chelt-...
