Mull It Over
It’s Paddy Power Gold Cup day today at Cheltenham which most of us still remember as the Mackeson Gold Cup. I always recall as a sixth former running a sweep stake for this race and also getting my dad to back Multum In Parvo for me for obvious reasons Silly

I’m just slightly late with this write up this morning as I’m watching online the final of the Asian Champions League between Seongnam Ilhwa & Zob Ahan. I’m with the Korean side who lead at half time 1-0. Fingers crossed!

Yesterday I only managed a win on Dave’s Dream and a place on Knowhere so here’s hoping for better on day two at Cheltenham.

12.50 Chelt- Architrave & Zakeeta (e/w).

1.20 Chelt- Chicago Grey & Cannington Brook (e/w).

1.55 Chelt- From Dawn To Dusk & Ballyfitz (e/w).

2.35 Chelt- Mad Max & Finger Onthe Pulse (e/w).

3.10 Chelt- Quickbeam & Sir Harry Ormesher (e/w).

3.40 Chelt- Devil To Pay & Crystal Rock (e/w).

*small e/w bets on the above*

It’s the first major meeting of the season starting at Cheltenham today and there are a plethora of great races  for us to enjoy.

Ultra competitive races undoubtedly lead to an air of caution when you’re punting at Cheltenham so don’t over do your stakes. As they say “baby steps” Blush

1.15 Chelt- Noun De La Thinte & Knowhere (e/w).

1.50 Chelt- King Of The Night (e/w).

2.25 Chelt- Dave’s Dream & Quito De Tresor (e/w).

3.00 Chelt- Heads Onthe Ground & Joe Lively (e/w).

3.35 Chelt- Ponmeoath & Max Bygraves & Chance Du Roy (e/w).

4.05 Chelt- The Giant Bolster (e/w).

Taunton Teasers

11 Nov 10 11:52
A brilliant day of results at Bangor yesterday with the crème de la crème being the 16/1 winner for Aiden Coleman & Venettia Williams.

It was suggested that I perhaps mark up my fancies with a “nap” and “nb” each day, however the more I thought about this last night the more I thought about what my blog objective was all about.Confused

Effectively this blog is about sharing what horses I would back-and do back, when in attendance at the race meeting selected. To be honest I never attach any preferred betting importance to any of the runners. Essentially I’m looking for an overall profit on the entire card so you could argue my naps for the day are a staking plan rather than a conventional set of tips. Silly

Todays’ fancies are from Taunton-home of the Bathwick Tyre it appears today :D

1.10 Taunt- Mayberry & Tarabela (e/w).

1.40 Taunt- Lake Legend (win).

2.10 Taunt- Dark Lover (win).

2.40 Taunt- Justabout (win).

3.10 Taunt- Singapore Reef & Nothing Is Forever (e/w).

3.40 Taunt- Guns Of Love & Thievery (e/w).

4.10 Taunt- Wosayu (e/w).

One from the bottom please Rachel Silly

Exeter Exclamations

12 Nov 10 14:51
It was four winners and a place at Southwell yesterday which wasn’t bad for a wet and windy miserable Monday. In fact it exceeded all expectations as Monday racing tends to be weaker and poorer racing than most other days of the week.

I’d like to say “hello” to all new readers of the Mull It Over blog from the new Forum Beta at Betfair. It’s nice to reach a new audience for my general codswallop and Betfair now has the functionality to blog. So essentially I’m going to be copying and pasting over what I post here on WordPress over to the Betfair Blog. Those of you reading purely on the Betfair site be aware that this blog also comes all singing and all dancing with bells and lights on :D . If you’d like to see the “topical” pictures that support each post you’ll need to pay a visit to the original site:   mully1.wordpress.com

Ok, back to business and today’s fancies are from Exeter:

1.20 Ex- Thatlldoboy & Shrewd Investment (e/w).

1.50 Ex- Five Star Wilsham (win).

2.20 Ex- Watamu Bay (win).

2.50 Ex- Royal Charm (win).

3.20 Ex- Whatcanisay (win).

3.50 Ex- Ballestra & Overnight Fame (e/w).

Have an excellent day! Silly

Southwell Soundings

08 Nov 10 13:39
So what did you make of the Breeder’s Cup 2010?

Well I personally found the racing superb. Plenty of success stories, plenty of sob stories-the meeting had it all. However I’d like to focus on the presentation from the broadcasters on both sides of the pond.

I felt Trevor Denman made too many bumbling mistakes in his commentaries. He seems a knowledgeable fella but his commentaries at the business end  left a lot to be desired. Will he be on the roster next? More than likely!

As for the ATR coverage, well it was somewhat embarrassing. The stateside coverage had potential but Chapman & Big Mac were like squabbling schoolboys and they lacked decorum. You could see our stateside partners squirming in disbelief as they witnessed the rants from those two. Fair play to Jason Weaver, the coverage in the stables and paddock was excellent. But why was the whole thing hosted from “the booth” and not the studio? Some studio analysis from some “level headed” characters would not have gone amiss.

Today’s selections are from Southwell:

12.40 South- Kilkenny All Star (win).

1.10 South- Rash Moment (e/w).

1.45 South- Sheshali (win).

2.15 South- National Trust (win).

2.45 South- Salpierre (e/w).

3.20 South- Awareiness & Royal Mile (e/w).

3.55 South- Tharaya (e/w).
