Firstly I’d like to thank you all for returning to my humble blog over and over and helping me hit the 40k mark overnight. You must be a glutton for punishment is all I can say!
The later 39,000 + hits yesterday would have sadly been greeted with a poor set of Exeter tips were I only managed to muster a few placed horses. So let’s celebrate 40k in style with some tips at Southwell. Remember these are just for fun as I do not confess to being any kind of specialist on the All Weather racing.
12.50 South- Castle Myth (e/w).
1.20 South- Tislaam (e/w).
1.50 South- Ella Grace & Royal Holiday (e/w).
2.20 South- Sammy G & Malibu Sun (e/w).
2.50 South- Primadora (e/w).
3.20 South- Diocles (e/w).
And no blog post of mine would be complete with a sexy pic of the Betfair Forum sweetheart… (see online for pic)
I hope you all managed to swoop in and take the 1.8 available on Goran yesterday in the AEGON Masters? He defeated Greg Rusedski in two tie-break sets 7-6, 7-6.
Today I’m ignoring the sand racing again and sticking with Goran Ivanisevic to win his semi against Pat Rafter. Jump on at 1.86 odds but don’t expect many rallies The match starts at 7.30pm GMT and is live on ITV4.
Well the voyage into to the All Weather unknown yesterday wasn’t too bad as I managed two winners and a couple of places. Today there is only one meeting so we’ll see how that goes.
For those of you interested in how I finished up in the Racecaller.com November league, I ended up 8th out of 770 monthly players and won a spot of cash. I could have been crafty and copied the chap who was just behind me at the start of the day. However, I played it fair and dropped down a spot in the table as he passed me by 3pts. That cost me a few quid but it’s not the way I play.
It’s good to see Rob The Builder blogging again (link on the right on mull it over online). He sounded a little bit despondent about his content so I offered him the following words of advice for possible content… ” A good story and a rant with a sexy picture thrown in. Oh, and a few mentions of sport- the perfect tonic!”
After being given the initial go ahead Folkestone was abandoned at the very last minute yesterday. Probably a wise choice on health and safety grounds but a real bummer for the jocks and stables as it’s not the most accessible of places to get to in a hurry.
Today I’m going to have a bash at the All Weather card at Lingfield. My interest there today is two-fold as I currently stand in 7th place in the Racecaller Monthly naps league for November with prizes from 1-10. So today I’m trying to preserve a top ten slot for a payout
From time to time I’m asked about profit and loss figures on this blog. As I’ve explained in the past it’s not really the intent or the purpose of my blog as it’s only a bit of fun and not a commercial concern. It makes me chuckle though as on the majority of days I outdo subscription sites and they take the huff saying it’s just a list of guesses I post up. Admittedly there is no extensive write up behind the selections, but for those of you who know me the research and study has already been done. You don’t see Templegate giving explanations do you? Plus, I’m hardly going to do major writes up each day when it’s just a hobby and I don’t get paid (sadly).
There is an underlying staking plan though on the fancies I post. A win selection = 2pts and an eachway selection = 1pt e/w.
Just for clarification then at Newbury yesterday the staking plan was 26pts in total (13 horses) and the combined S.P points return I calculated to be 48pts. Therefore a profit on the day of +22 pts.
Now, I’ve never subscribed to a payment tipping service but would I be right in thinking they don’t achieve a 22pts margin on one day do they? I might be way off the mark as I’ve never even dabbled in that murky world but I’d be surprised :D
Anyway, no tips today. Let’s have a well deserved rest and long may my lucky guesses continue!
Blimey! Who decided to start Newbury at 11.55 a.m? It’s causing me a right scramble this morning trying to get all my writes ups and competitions entered before noon
What a great day of tips yesterday at Newbury, kicking off with a 7/1 & 8/1 double header. I was however slightly disappointed at the hit count though-I guess people were stuck in the snow or were at the German markets?
Today’s splendid tips from the Hennessy meeting are:
11.55 Newb- Teshali & Act Of Kalanisi (e/w).
12.25 Newb- Peddlars Cross (win).
12.55 Newb- Noun De La Thinte & Pheidias (e/w).
1.30 Newb- Regal Approach & Alderley Rover (e/w).
2.00 Newb- The Betchworth Kid (e/w).
2.30 Newb- Big Bucks (win).
3.05 Newb- Burton Point & Madison Du Berlais (e/w).
It’s love town time at Newbury today as most of the country struggles to fend off the cold snap. Fortunately the “Fighting Fifth Hurdle” has been diverted to Newbury as Newcastle fell foul of the weather yesterday. A favourite race of mine since Floyd won it I’m glad it’s still going ahead.
” In the bleak midwinter doo de doo de doo“. It’s certainly not so warm outside in the UK today but it’s red hot down under as our cocky England cricketers (what the frick was that stupid dance all about?) seem to have antagonised the Australians and spurred them into a fantastic start. I could see that scenario coming a mile off. Over confidence and complacency often results in an embarrassing spanking from my experience! No, not that kind of spanking. I don’t know what clubs you go to in your spare time?
Today’s fancies are from Taunton:
12.40 Taunt- Cortinas (e/w).
1.10 Taunt- Nosecond Chance & Yukon Quest (e/w).
1.45 Taunt- Artic Ben (win).
2.20 Taunt- Cantabilly & Puerto Azul (e/w).
2.55 Taunt- Sawpit Solitaire & The Hudnalls (e/w).
