Just looking over the stats from Force India's first season in F1, 2008. They had a best finishes of a 10th and two 12ths finished exactly half of the races. iirc they also dominated the back row of the grid every week as well.

On Sunday just gone they beat Mercedes who they buy engines from and Mclaren who they buy technology from for outright pace all weekend. The rise of the team in 5 years is extraordinary and I wonder what he secret behind it is. Bob Fearnley has always struck me as a true professional who really knows what he's doing but I suppose Mallya's not short of a few bob to put into the team either is he? any thoughts............

There was a period in 2009 at fast circuits where they had one of the best cars!!

Dont think theyve particularly overacheived. In fact with the current tyre regulations i'm amazed williams, sauber, force india etc havent managed to do something more radical to get amongst the front runners.
