Can anyone explain why certain drivers, who've already achieved a fastest lap in 1 or more GPs this season, are priced at 30/1 +. Rosberg for example has already had the fastest lap in 2 of the GPs so far this season, yet is priced at 38.00. Am I missing something here?

It's a tough market - must be the most big priced winners in motor sport Confused

Almost any driver may need to pit at either the last part of the race where there is optimum speed available when either:

a. Late on in the race when weight is low and tyres are then newer with a large enough gap back from other cars to push the tyre's to their limits in all sectors.

b. The last time the track was offering good performance before it pisses down.

c. DSG can also effect this when a closing car can slingshot past a slower car and into a clear window after pitting late on for fresh tyres.

It's a minefield - drive carefully

It would be fun to have a point for fastest lap, it would mean drives out of the points would pit late for new tyres and we'd see a few banzai laps.  It would liven up the end of the race which is usually quite dull.

I believe they used to give Championship points for Pole position years ago ... but yes would be another twist on the race tactics if they either gave point for Pole or fastest lap Devil

GP2 awards 2 points for fastest lap but you only get them if you finish in the top 10, this stops the scenario described above.

Fastest lap market is difficult and random these days, 2 years ago you could just put up £100 at 1.30-1.40 on every driver at the start of the race and come back to pick up your profit at the end.
