How come in the F1 odds I regularly see odds on odds checker from bookies which are better than the odds people are asking for (in the red section) on Betfair. Why doesn't someone with an account just bet with the bookie and take the lays keeping the mark up? even with the 5% thing you regularly see stuff that just doesn't make sense. Watch practice 3 odds or qualifying and there are loads of examples. Schumi is 250/1 on b*tfred for pole but no-one has taken someone asking for 200/1 on on Betfair?

yep the 250/1 for schumi on b-tfred was nice :)

I think the catch is most experienced bettors are limited at bookies.  zazu what others reasons then?

1. Bookmakers dont take bets. 2. Even if you're a complete mug if they think you're an arber you'll be limited ASAP
3. if you're only laying one driver in the market you'll tie up £1k in liability per £5. Not like horse racing where is turned over rapidly 4. Betfair liquidity is shocking, how much is to be layed at 200? 5. betfair and bookmakers dont always have the same rules

If you're willing to trawl through different markets there are plenty of better arbs than 250/1 vs 200/1 if you have free reign with online bookies. you wont have it for long though
