I'd presume the F-ducts aren't going to do too much there so it should be all about pole I reckon. Anyone seen anything that would suggest one of the 'other' teams cars does well in slow spped tracks or wlil it all be about Red Bull?

Difficult to see beyond them at the moment,
Hamilton was pretty quick there in practice last year despite a dog of a car (subsequently ruined his qualifying by walling it) and clearly enjoys the circuit so might have a live chance.

With the qualifying going ahead with the full number of cars  - there could be more chance of a surprise pole I suppose.

Monaco is less about aero so Red Bull might not be so dominant.
Report eagles2008 May 12, 2010 1:14 PM BST
I fancy a Mercedes and Michael Schumacher to win at Monaco. His got a new car was on form last race and he knows the place so well and the Mercedes looks like it lacks straight line speed but makes up for it in traction out of corners which is vital at Monaco. I'm punting on a Schumacher win.
Report fivebagken May 12, 2010 1:33 PM BST
Monaco is all about downforce. More Red Bull beatings. Pile in.
Report __JC_GT__ May 13, 2010 4:12 AM BST
Monaco's is less about downforce and more about mechanical grip then most tracks.

Doesn't mean Redbull aren't still the car to beat.

You're welcome.

Massa and Kubica look good value to me. around 23,24.
Hamilton will either pole it or crash it I reckon.
Rain is forecast for this afternoon (on the BBC).
I could see the big teams maybe going out a little late and getting caught out with traffic.

I only do long odds in F1 as I am expecting to win once out of every 100 bets.
So I am on Adrian Sutil, Vitaly Petrov and
Rubens Barrichello and hoping for weather/crashes and other random occurrences.

Report fkqmz May 15, 2010 1:02 PM BST
check the rules carefully. if its an 'all in or not' market, then hes going to be a loser.

So did I but what is going on now is criminal - Betfair are still allowing punters to lay him when he's obviously a non-runner. In the past half hour mugs have lost over 3 grand - they obviously are not aware of the situation.

Filth - from Schumacher - why? Alonso got sideways, Schumi saw a space and went for it, racing to the end is what is should be about, if they didn't want drivers to try at the end they should have finished under safety.

Schumi fined with a 20" penalty, classified 12th, backers for points will honour the new BF settlement rules
Report Riddick May 16, 2010 6:40 PM BST
Another absurd decision by the FIA.

Green flags clearly being waved, apparently that now means do not overtake.

I'm sure it would have been a different decision if Schumacher was still driving the red car.

Well done Damon.
Report Green Board May 16, 2010 7:07 PM BST
Agree - like Hamilton being penalised in Spa a retarded decision. The penalties always seem to favour whoever the FIA think has the best chance of keep the battle alive - I guess they're hoping Alonso can stay in touch with the Red Bulls. Bet Schumacher is wondering why he bothered coming back.
Report fkqmz May 17, 2010 11:38 AM BST
come on, you know full well the stewards make these decisions and the stewards are mutually exclusice to the FIA. hamilton spagate is dead and buried and it wasnt an absurd decision anyway, not that im reopening that debate! implying that the penalties are the FIA trying to spice up the championship is absurd. if it were true maybe button would have got a few more last year.
Report Green Board May 17, 2010 8:19 PM BST
It's not absurd - for about the last 15 years they seem to have alrgely favoured whoever is chasing. Hope this one gets overturned
Report fkqmz May 18, 2010 2:21 PM BST
funny, i seem to remember most people referring to the FIA as Ferrari International Assistance throughout the most part of the 00s. and they won 6 out of the 10 WDCs.
Report bb66 May 18, 2010 5:44 PM BST
Mercedes not even protesting against the decision, they must have found the article in the rulebook!
