Roadrunner, friend of mine trades in currency, has an app for it, he never Fecks up about pips? What the hell is pips etc... BTW he claims to do OK, but to me it's just another form of gambling, no different to trading on here.

Well done Road runner, i have made and lost money playing the share markets but have.nt play for a good few years now.  Capital gains tax does.nt help but you are more likely to make money from share markets then backing horses, having said that i get a much bigger kick out of seeing my horse get on the line. good luck with your investments.

looking at the share price now.

tesla has been one of the most talked about companies in the last two weeks, fascinating hearing about all the people who dislike the company and elon musk and have been paying a heavy price shorting the stock since last year, now number one most shorted stock on the nasdaq with apple at number two. tesla earnings report on 28/29 january.

ive been tracking uber technologies inc on google finance since january 1st, at time $30.63, they have skyrocketed since then, they have only been listed since last year at around $42 was reading about them losing their licence to operate in london few weeks back,
problems in other countries as well, they got rid of one of the people who started the business. as you know all these problems could make for an ideal opportunity as proven with 95% of my picks. difficult to price now at $37, worth keeping  track of this year.

good interview, interesting about the structure of the problem facing the big car companies and the dealership model, tesla cars are low maintenance, extremely fast and cheap to run, plus tesla have so many other ways to make money in the future. hope to be driving a tesla

see there has been an almighty correction in tesla's price today 769 dollars, after hitting a high over 950 dollars last night, the plunge started 15 minutes  before the markets closed last night and has carried on today, very clever on wall street some of those traders, bet they caught a lot of people in that bubble.

to 120 dollars might be worthy of consideration. with the current trend and ongoing situation could bounce past its previous  high of 164. wait and see.

i have made no money from any of these deals, just learning the ART OF THE DEAL, i do hope some people have made few pounds, elon musk is a hero of mine and very good at what he does, dont follow twitter but his tweets can be real money spinners, think he was being honest  to a fault about the current  value of tesla, he also hasn't  got much time for
financial  institutions  and all that goes  with that. as for algorithms , i find nothing  beats the human brain.

after two market crashes in the last 18 months and the world changed due to the covid 19 pandemic, my final thoughts, when it comes to investing in stock markets an individual
investor has a lot more room to manoevre then the financial institutions and therefore does not have to operate  in the same way, that is why looking for companies that pay
a good dividend is not a good strategy if you want to build a reasonable  amount of capital in a short period  of time 3-5 years  through investing, 5000 to 500,000 sounds

i have just opened an account for stocks, i have been preparing diligently for 6 months, already have accountancy skills and have read quite a bit.

I am taking a long term approach looking for stocks that will pay a dividend, reinvest dividend etc, build a broadish portfolio, starting with some safer type picks for foundation, will then take some more middleish risk, always seeking intrinsic value before eventually trying to catch a couple of flyers in terms of growth.

I am also thinking of a second account for less funds in order to do some more short term stuff, moving some profit over to the long term portfolio if successful, if i fail with that bank i will quit and just stick with the long term stuff which i wont be trading at all, just keep it all the way..

So how would you plan to function in stocks, im not seeking advice regard picks just wondering what overall strategies you might deploy.

Read a story yesterday about Huawei being blown out by USA for another year, 5g paranoia and all that. But it went on to say there was another Chinese firm, Xailong or something like that, who were were growing in a similar way to Huawei when they became big. Think they'd grown 13% last 6 months. And stand to swoop on Huawei,s demise. They've had big problems with Google too. Might be worth a look.

thought i was training an elite group of investors on here and setting them up with the funds to become  millionaires , seems the training  has fallen on deaf ears

bottom-up investing is an investment  approach that focuses on the analysis of individual stocks and de-emphasizes the significance of macroeconomic cycles and market cycles.
the bottom-up approach assumes individual companies can do well even in an industry that is not performing, at least on a relative basis

the daily price charts are not accurate  enough, my advice write down open/close price everyday , it helps if your only following limited  amount  of companies  and those peter webb (bet angel ) videos  have  been very useful in understanding  trading, learnt some good insights.

42 million lost there jobs in american and 3 million in the uk, yet the financial  markets have recovered, especially in america, you can thank the tech stocks for that.

Aura energy (AURA)  are sitting on lucrative mines but the management have had many issues often self inflicted, a medium sized risk but a potentially big upside if you buy at the current price.
They could dissolve the share holding again with another capital raise, seem to be at war with shareholders.

Gold aint what it used to be, too cumbersome for the digital world, the whole bit coin situ weighing on that quite heavily i'd have thought.

I think these days gold is looked at more for wealth preservation purposes that investment.I suppose the supply of it is finite but printing paper dollars certainly is not.
