Have bet Houblon Des Obeaux each way in the Hennessy @ 16s, runner up last year off a 1lb higher and the ground should be fine, more rain would be no worry either

Have played Top Notch @ 5s and Beltor @ 10s in the Fighting Fifth. Wicklow Brave is a shocking price for me, he won the county hurdle off 138 (i think) and while he has ran well on the flat during the summer i fell he is priced up on finishing close up to Nicholas Canyon and Faugheen where to be frank he was race fit and especially Faugheen looked to be carrying loads of condition. I would rather take Top Notch over Irving on last weeks running, Top Notch was making his seasonal debut, had to do his own donkey work and surprisingly and unusually for him made mistakes at the last 2 hurdles, i would be disappointed if he does not improve past Irving. Beltor i am backing on his very impressive win at Kempton last season on soft ground, he may have a lot to find on ratings but with conditions to suit and the fact connections are aiming here instead of a handicap i would not be surpried to see him mix it with them.

Treat Yourself to a bet on one of Arthur Moore three in the Grd B Chase at 12.40 with young Kennedy up for a valuable 5lbs @12's ew. A nibble on JP's Minella4U is a slight negative but there's 4 places.

I don't recall any of them tipping Houblon Des Obeaux, Top Notch or Beltor ? They all seemed to love Wicklow Brave who i am totally against and think he is rank value. Granted it was only on in the background while i was having breakfast

Am also betting Toon River in the 12:40 Fairyhouse at around 17 on here, have to take fitness on trust but he was really impressive 2 runs back when hacking up at Gowran over 2m 2f jumping beautifully, was still going well when getting rid of the jock over 3m 1f at the Punchestown festival although it was a long way out, had jumped lovely until that point. I don't see the problem with the drop back in trip on his Gowran run and hopefully Davy jumps out and either leads or is handy.

I don't know about that, top notch probably wants further and wicklow brave was well beaten there as well which suggests it was a decent performance. We haven't seen their best prospet either in peace and co and my tent or yours still to re-appear this year.

ruby and willie gave urano a good write up in the papers this morning and I backed him @ 33's after reading. He's very slow but it's an open race and he might nick a place with emphasis on stamina.

My Tent Or Yours could not win a Champion in his prime (mainly due to pulling like a loon) so is not going to now after being off so long, they never come back as good

Peace And Co should get the strong pace he needs and is probably value for further than the Triumph winning distance but on what we have seen from Top Notch it is miles from being good enough to be a Champion Hurdler

Willie could probably win it with any of about six if they were aimed at it, don't rate the triumph hurdle form or any of the English challengers.

Willie looks set for an unprecedented period of domination over the next few years, English trainers are so far behind it's hard to believe. Yes some up and coming trainers like Fry,skeleton and Geatrex but at a lower level, David Pipe would be working in Tesco only for his sir surname and is in a terminal downward spiral

I did not even realise that Urano was in the Hennessy.

Tony mentioned in the past about Mullins runners in the UK, but I would not dwell on that. However his record in handicap chases is pretty amazing.

His last UK handicap chase winner was Hedgehunter in the National and before that was It's Time for a Win many moons ago. I think his only other one was the DQ Be My Royal. It is clear he does not target these races, although with so many horses now, it is likely to gradually change. However he does seem poor at getting one ready for these handicaps and he made a pigs ear of getting Djakadam ready for it last year, in light of how much overweight he looked that day (according to the excellent Neesom)and its subsequent efforts.

It hardly matters in light of everything he is achieving but it certainly stands out in comparison to winning some of these softer handicap chases in Ireland.
