With Alive Alive OH likely to be a nr ...I make this a match , Talent the oaks winner v Riposte ...In this case I'm willing to go with proven form ...In fact I think she is a massive price at 5/2 ....Gordon lord byron will be my other bet on the day ......

The french filly is interesting but she is a head case, second in the french oaks but before that ran into a hedge when clear.
I am sure JPM will try to produce her late.
Interesting Jockey bookings for ballydoyle. Heffernan keeps the ride.

Looks very trappy

DJ876 I just cant have the French filly , Its a long time since a maiden has won a classic , i have great respect for the trainer and everyone knows my opinion of Johnny , she has never run over the distance another minus for me , her sire is an influence for stamina , but she makes no appeal , The Epsom form seems to holp up year after year , I can see riposte running well but as i said in my opening remarks , She is a filly of massive potential , but to my way of punting i'd always take proven form over potential anytime...

I wouldn't have a strong opinion on the race, very different conditions for Talent tomorrow that is why you're getting the price.
The ground was  good to soft at Epsom and they went a really strong gallop,so it suited being held up.

I would agree with you about Good Lord Byron, hopefully the inclusion of the Ballydoyle 3yo will make him a decent price.

I'd be siding with Riposte, that Ascot ground was plenty quick and she just has that proper classy Juddmonte background that makes one think she is going to get better and better. Beckett doesn't really rate his filly reading between the lines.

Going by the stats, this is a two horse race. No idea what to pick between them though.

Themanmarcus if you think it is a two horse race PP are doing money back if you are 2nd(to a ton online but check yourself) might be a consideration. No real opinion on the Oaks either except agree with what was said about the French horse(comment on 2nd last race was looked to have race won til ran through a hedge, saw her last race and she wasn,t far from doing something similar)
Thought Saratoga Baby in the 4.10 might run well at a fair price, not greatly handicapped but shes a big thing down in class from her last run and trip and ground should be ideal.Have a good day.

Ya Pa good special with PP for those that can get on,Money back if you finish second in Irish Oaks-no stipulation on distance or second to favourite etc.€100 max (not sure if it's online only).
The prices aren't way off either(possible R4 tho) but hopefully alive alive oh will run and make it a dead 8 ew race.

Anyone see where the pace is going to come from in this race??,on all known form they are 8 hold up fillies.??
U'd expect that one of Ballydoyles will make it but will they set a strong gallop??.I have my doubts with Venus de Milo winning over 10f lto(but she won over 12f on debut),if they had the favourite or an English oaks runner you could guarantee a strong gallop but I think this could become tactical.

Maybe Ballydoyle will go a strong gallop but u'd think at least one of the the other trainers would have taken some precautions.

Bolger's filly made it the last day over a mile but has been generally held up and having not won over further than a mile would be surprised if she made it.

I really like Magical Dream to improve markedly on what she has achieved so far on fast ground. Her dam Red Evie loved it. What does cause me some concern is her jockey? Never heard of him and looks like he has ridden two winners according to the Racing Post- no disrespect to him but how has he managed to get a group 1 ride with Bally Doyle?

I would have thought that under the heading of this thread that wr was referring to Alive Alive Oh when he mentions potential. I think that the English filly (Riposte), has shown a very good level of form in her Royal Ascot victory, so for me the filly with the potential has to be Stacks filly. I would love to know the exact state of the ground. How much water has been put on ?. Did anyone see tankers from the Limrick area about the Curragh ?. Could this be watered to suit Alive Alive Oh. IMHO the English Oaks was a dire race, (Moth finished close up, didn't she?), and of the raiders I would prefer Lady Cecil's but if Stacks filly has a cut inspite of the ground issues she could win.

Also on the card So Devoted has a decent, chance, and with W McCreery on a good run maybe his Valbucca against JPM's fav..........

Jay , both fillies riposte and alive have the potential to win , I have a feeling alive won't run , so Riposte is the obvious one against Talent..The form of the oaks has taken some knocks in recent weeks i know , but the way she won was impressive , so i'm sticking with her today...

At this stage of the season, I think their hands are tied and Alive will be allowed to run. The watering cans will be out big time.........this is a high class filly.

On ground that suits , yes , can she reproduce it on this , that for me is the question Jay , why run her on this ground and maybe ruin her , why not wait for next year , its only about every 10yrs we get weather ...

I'm with kavvie on this one the French horse makes huge ew appeal in what to me is a sub standard oaks, Talent won well at Epsom but it might have been a bit of a fluke hence her starting price, all the rest are much of a muchness.

Anyone think this Darwin is overrated?, the American form is nothing to write home about and I wasn't over impressed at Naas didn't seem to have a whole lot left in the tank, GLB certainly brings more solid evidence to the table and will do for me.

brings us back to potential versus proven form kav, Darwin might be a whole lot better than he's looked so far but are you willing to take that chance or go with GLB's proven form which is rock solid?.

WR,If I thought something was massive @ 5/2 in a classic,I'd be getting the wheelbarrow @ 3/1.

I can't believe Good Lord Byron(battle hardened 5yo) isn't favourite,he'll have that Ballydoyle 3yo(stepping down in trip on fast ground) run off his feet with 2 furlongs to go

the cecil filly is highly thought of at the yard..i thought her ascot win was impressive..my only worry is the ground?..im not sure she wont be better with a bit of cut?..but im on..good luck all

Of course she is highly thought of,she has won a group 2 at Royal Ascot.I can't see how the ground is a concern when firm was in the going description for her last 2 wins.

Not quite the wheelbarrow job dj876 but near enough at that price , i also agree with your take on Gordon , will be having a nice double ...I'm tormented tbh , my mate has a runner today and everytime i miss its race it wins , dont want to jinx it ...so will probably stay home...

riposte's trainer is bang in form at the moment, would prefer talent winning the race, ground could be a game changer.
ive never been to the curragh, looks rough track when the ground is firm, winner will be the one that handles the surface.
