|
By:

|
By:
3months of good ground to gallop on there will be loads of machines...but come Clonmel will they still be flying?
|
By:
thats the usual talk before the season starts..
|
By:
Have heard there is an exceptional pup in west cork out of an oaks winner
|
By:
i heard of 2 good dog pups in west tipp.brothers.
|
By:
The Blueview dogs are reported to be coming along very well......Bexhill Eoin.
A lad near me has a beautiful fawn dog and bitch by Bexhill eoin out of a good well bred trial stake winner........They look well but very badly reared and will fall apart as soon as they are stepped up...........never cut corners as you will always get found out. |
By:
I strongly agree gant. If they are not reared well, then you really are wasting your time at this game imo. Very few places that you would feel confident in getting a coursing pup reared properly. Is Martin Tucker still in that game does anybody know?
|
By:
Martin Tucker is still rearing.
|
By:
A nice fella Martin is. Certainly no corners would be cut when it comes to rearing in that set up
|
By:
He is a nice fella. His pups look well when he brings them in for handslips. I know a few lads who use him and are happy with the job he does.
|
By:
i wonder will magic nd make a comeback to the forum this season.he was good crack !!
|
By:
I don't think that is likely kavvie. Met him a couple of weeks ago, he was in the caribbean for most of the summer and he was looking forward to the opening weekend in kilflynn in about a months time.

Nothing wrong with field sports
Friday, August 31, 2012 irishexamier.ie I read with interest your report "Tougher Laws Urged on Blood Sports" (Aug 26), quoting remarks made by John Carmody, director of the Animal Rights Action Network, ahead of a planned rally in Dublin last Sunday. Mr Carmody wants the forthcoming Animal Health & Welfare Bill to include some kind of ban on what he describes as "bloodsports". It may seem like a mere question of wording to those less knowledgeable, but for we who devote our weekends to hunting, "bloodsports" is a loaded term used to demonise the traditional sporting heritage of small town/rural Ireland. Your readers may be interested to learn of another rally that also took place on Sunday, Aug 26, at the Irish Game Fair in Birr Castle, organised by RISE — Rural Ireland Says Enough — in defence of field sports such as hunting, shooting and fishing. Hundreds of people gathered to show their support for traditional rural pursuits that are enjoyed across this island by many hundreds of thousands of people, from all walks of life, of all ages and social backgrounds. It is no doubt purely a coincidence that the animal rights extremists organised their own event on the same day and they are, of course, entitled to lobby the political establishment for their own ends. For our own part, the field sports community are constructively engaged with this Government and share Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney’s view that animal health and welfare legislation requires updating. This can best be achieved in a process that involves genuine consultation and a good deal of common sense. Hunting people are devoted to the welfare of their animals — foxhounds, harriers, beagles, gundogs, greyhounds, terriers, spaniels, retrievers, horses, hawks and ferrets — spending most of their spare time, day in, day out, feeding, exercising and accommodating them at their own expense. Fields sports nationally inject millions into the rural economy and act as a valuable draw for the domestic and international tourism market. Such an engine for rural employment and regeneration does not need tampering with. Those in the political establishment who might be tempted to use field sports as a political football should understand that if they think they can score some easy points by restricting our traditional pursuits, then they are mistaken. We are watching play from the sidelines and stand ready to cross the whitewash whenever necessary. Philip Donnelly Chairman Hunting Association of Ireland Clane Co Kildare |

It's the likes of that WANK8R and his buddies that have the greyhound painted aa a wicked animal to the Irish public.
This makes rehoming very hard in Ireland but thank f*ck for the IGB and Barry Coleman who do a wonderful job........we have sent dogs to Italy, Germany, Slovenia and the czech republic.....all the dogs are neutered, chipped and we get regular photos and feedback from adopters. Greyhounds are quiet, clean and just love affection..........some dodgy owners give responsible owners a bad name. |

Does anybody know of any bookies that would lay you a decent price on a pup for clonmel before they ever run in a trial stake!? Pretty positive I just saw the oaks winner today, in fact I a am certain I did!
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
usually no,but im sure if you asked round someone will lay you.is it that good snap?long way to being still there when the piper plays!!
|
By:
kavvie, she was moving so fast that I blinked and almost missed her! Bred to win an oaks to boot!
![]() |
By:
i tried berkie last yr before our bitch won a trial stake.he said he wouldnt price her til she won one..worth a phone call tho if shes that good..you can tell me her name if you like!!!
|
By:
This is the dreamers part of the season...........they all gallop well on their own.
|
By:
Believe me Gant, I would not be one to be getting carried away with a fast gallop or 2 at this stage of the season. But this pup is truly special imo on a line of form through a very good dog from last season. She will without doubt be a single figure price for the oaks after she wins her trial stake
|
By:
Only pulling your leg........try get a price before she runs(Berkie Browne should oblige) or pile on as soon as she wins her trial stake.

![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
i tried them all last year.i was surprised but even berkie said no.i guess its a lose/ lose for them if they win a trial stake..back her for the trial stake and put the lot on for the oaks and you will be getting a good price to your original stake!!.
|
By:

By:
