No point me commenting on the Kildare match I'll leave that to others because I'm extremely bias for Kildare. Kildare against Antrim first time around was embarrassing to throw away the 3pt lead, Derry havent really beaten anyone of major note but neither have Kildare and have made hard work of their wins. I'm hoping Kildare win obviously but I'd say it'll be close and I'd rather keep the draw on side when playing in running, Derry might shade it given home advantage.
Dublin look very short on the face of things against Armagh, but Armagh were absolutely terrible against Monaghan, that was the day the Monaghan keeper stormed off I believe and an outfield player played in goal, apparently there was unrest in the camp, but Armagh were just brutal and Monaghan won very easy. Dublin are also terrible though, so IMO it depends on whos worse rather than whos better, history would say to back Armagh because Dublin crash and burn against any good team that puts it up to them, this isnt an Armagh team like the past though. Again I reckon it'll be a good idea to keep the draw on side in running.
Waterford were playing excellent and "had matters in hand" (You could say!) before the two Cork goals that completely changed the game. Theres an argument for saying those two goals sort of changed the way Cork were viewed, but sure then Waterford scored a goal in the last minute for a draw. A draw was probably the fairest result really, I still think its a pretty even enough game and Cork are maybe a bit short at 1.7, its probably a certainty that the game goes into the last 10mins level and then see who wins, should be a cracking game again.
Terrific heart & passion shown by Waterford........Brown's block at the end was simply outstanding......threw himself in the way of the ball. Brick was powerful and Noel Connors is fast becoming one of the best corner backs in the game.
Cork's forwards were all at sea in the conditions, Cussen & O'Hailpin's lack of skill was exposed in the weather.
