A marvelllous afternoon's racing at Cheltenham prefaces another intrigueing Friday night meeting with Johnny Murtagh and Pat Smullen in battle again.
Race 1) One Set and leading trainer at the track Ger Lyons to open proceedings. The old phrase, back the top weight in a nursery.
Race 2) An Auction Maiden means bad horses on the whole. Shareen for the Oxx/Berry combo stand out a mile having finished a never nearer second on his last visit here.
Race 3) A 0 to 65 means more bad horses. Russian View can give Murtagh another winner in his title quest. This one is sure to improve from his seasonal debut and can win again.
Race 4) A cracking Listed Fillies race can see Johnny Murtagh extend his lead on ultra impressive filly Fourpenny Lane who pulverised the opposition here 3 weeks ago.
Race 5) Baskirov and R P Walsh won here last night and can follow up. It would be great for builder Luke Comer. It brings back memories when he actually had a horse who came 3rd in the English ledger a number of years ago.
Race 6) Bypass Shaimaa likey market leader for the Shark whose horses are not going well. Too tricky for me.
Race 7) Another ruddy 0 to 65. Take a chance on the Murtagh treble with Inis Ceithleann. Peter Casey has his horses back in form after many years in the wilderness.

BJG they are always tricky in Dundalk. For a change most of my lays actually got turned over. My nap Inch Rebel was turned over :(

Ya some funny results last night, a place pot divy of 15k says it all really.
The Nanny are going to have to do something with the jackpot though, the grand total of 345 carried forward to tomorrow night.I never bother with it any more at the small meetings, just not worth it. The placepot on the other hand has blossomed ever since it was opened up to the British betting public. |

I tipped russian view in the comp but 2/1 is too short imo, i would lay at such a price though hopefully it will win for the comp

differ in opinion about one set
has been beaten several times off 78 now the nursery he was 2nd to dream dear: form has not worked out ran flat lto over 5 when i though he'd a chance value represented by JUMBO STEPS imo has run well in defeat against better oposition was close enough over 5f at dalk in bewitched/moonreach/reggae dancer nursery which was very fast and the form of which has been franked several times good luck all!! |

Most of the jollys have hardened during the day on here.
Race 1) Iron Major, steady at 2.1 Race 2) Sharreen 5/4 into a tight 11/10 Race 3) Russian View 11/4 into 9/4. Inishearaght 10/1 into 11/2 Race 4) Fourpenny Lane 9/4 into 2/1 Race 5) Bashkirov 7/2 into 3/1 Race 6) Charminamix WONT win imo. 4/1 out to 11/2 Race 7) Space Race 5/1 into 7/2 SOF, SNA can be the next Nijinsky imo!! |

Swinia, I can't have San Sioacharn. For starters when did Johnny last ride for Joanna. Also Wayne Lordan who is involved with the Coolmore lads via the Wachman stable wouldn't give this mount up lightly the way it bolted in here 3 eeks ago.

Looks like a good night for the favs in the PP imo though :( hard to see a lot of em out of the 3- hopefully we can keep a few of the short ones out of the places anyway! Have done a 5 straight fav line too just incase!

soapp, why you so sure Charinamix wont win ? Looks at his York run over same Trip. I backed him that day and was seriously seething he did not place. Was in the perfect position coming into the home straight, then Richard Hughes decides to let other horses around him have first run, consequently when he goes to make his challenge he find's trouble and finishes out the places. Pulled hard early on aswell.
Nevertheless, that performance left me Cold, and im not backing him for real, just entered in the Comp. I dont like the trainer one bit. Sorry! |

Sint I was only going on betting trends. When his are easy to back I find they don't win full stop. Just an observation.
Usually there will be a few pound for it before hand rather than all of it on the track imo. |
