What's going on with Spoken Truth? Before he bombed he was supposed to be the Irish Derby horse, the apple of the trainer's eye. Now he returns as second string to a pretty ordinary filly. Both trainer/jock in woeful form, but couldn't stop myself throwing a dart with Fred offering four places.

The 16's and most of the 14's gone, but remains a crazy price for a horse who was single figures to win an Irish Derby, and has just had the one very bad run. Had this race been before that duff effort he would have been a very short priced favourite to see off this bunch. Why would Weld be bringing him back at this stage just to run another shocker? If the horse is showing nothing then surely there is no point in running.
i get your point diffd i play 2nd 3rd and even 4th strings for certain yards and this is one of them ,a few others today as well .good luck ive gone ew 4 places
28/1 a horse who was single figures in a Derby market with City Of Troy? Clearly it had no place being on a racecourse. A thoroughly pointless exercise, made even more so by the fact they won the race with the other one.
No doubt O'Brien too much of the Irish furniture to quiz Weld as to what he has been doing with this horse such that the market so obviously knew that was going to happen.
