Once again trainers show a total lack of initiative. There are just 6 declared for this championship race, including 3 from A O'Brien and 2 from C Appleby. Am I really to conclude that these 6 represent the best colts on both sides of the Irish Sea? If so, I despair............. Come on trainers, have a bold tilt at the excellent prize money.

O'Brien said on Tuesday evening: "The Lion In Winter might miss the race at the Curragh on Saturday and head to the Dewhurst instead.
"He had a bit of a bruised foot last week so we're thinking he might go to the Dewhurst instead now.
