Walk for My Brother Adam: Battling Severe Pain and Blindness

Dear friends,

My brother, Adam, is in desperate need. To support him, I will be walking the 182 mile / 14-day Coast to Coast trail across Northern England, from St. Bees on the Irish Sea to the North Sea at Robin Hood’s Bay. I will be crossing the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors starting on Sunday 9th September.

Some of you may know, for the past two years, I have been caring for my brother Adam, who is battling a very rare and extremely painful eye condition (with no cure) called Corneal Neuralgia.

Since December 2023, his condition has worsened dramatically, forcing him to keep his eyes closed all the time, rendering him voluntarily blind. Adam describes the pain as reaching suicidal levels, although he assures me he is not actually suicidal.

His days are spent in silence, sitting in a chair because speaking, listening, or moving around aggravates his symptoms. At night, his eyes spasm and squeeze, adding to his agony. He does not leave his home, socialise, handle visitors, or even spend Christmas Day with family. He often breaks down in tears from the unbearable pain, unable to live any kind of normal life. I am gravely worried about my brother.

Adam has borrowed hundreds of thousands of pounds to pay for his consultations, treatments, therapies, operations and general care. Your donation will help ease this burden and show him he is not alone in this battle.

I am aiming to raise £25,000. Please support me in this challenge. Your love and concern will mean the world to him ❤️

With gratitude
Paul x

Sorry to hear about your brother Adam's health. I've made a donation. I thought Adam claimed he made 7 figures on Betfair pre PC so am shocked to hear he also faces financial difficulties.

TBF it is a fair question - he was supposed to be one of the early poster boys for BF trading making a huge amount of money?

Obv still awful to be ill.

from his posts here didn't seem to get much of a kick out of the play ( imo probably because unlike most hadn't gone donkeys years losing )   and then PC and liquidity became issues.

That sounds like an awful thing to live with. We all take our health for granted but that can turn on you any day.

Good luck to him.

Just think under the circumstances it's very snide to imply he was lying about his prophets.

SNIDE
what would you call someone making millions out of what they called mug money in early days of Betfair ,now asking the mugs to bankroll their healthcare ?

I'm not sure if anyone is suggesting he was lying, but it's just natural when posting this on our betting forum to consider one of the 'names' of the BF history that was up in lights...
