I'm still retaining the faith with Look De Vega. He was only beaten 3.5l; he was 2.25l infront of the winner previously. I think he was severely undercooked yesterday. How many trainers have done that eg Gosden, Nicholls, Hendo, AOB and others.

Delius (fav) was given plenty to do when outpointed by Sosie, similarly, yesterday when she'd every chance to atone; Sosie in turn was outpointed by Look de Vega.
I hope Look De Vega will turn up as a proper racehorse in 3 weeks' time rather than a fat pig!

My suspicion is that Fabre still rates Mqse De Sevigne as his big Arc hope imo
Kind of leaning towards that one in a monster double with Jan Brueghel in the Melbourne Cup.

All this under cooked speculation, but nobody actually knows. If you had already punted him for the Arc you will probably be looking for any excuse for what was a dismal performance, particularly as he had the chance to control the race. The market (6/4-8/13) suggested he wasn't that much under cooked.

He was 6/4 antepost (only 7/2 for The ARC), and he was only backed on the day of the race. The trainer did say he'd left something to work on bearing in mind he last race 105 days ago; Sosie and Delius ran against each other about a month ago.
I hope he can do a Treve, and win post a defeat in the Trial; he did beat Sosie easily in The Jockey Club. I think to be undercooked and be the pacesetter in a race for the very 1st time was far from ideal. It was not beaten far after tiring in the last furlong.
I hope he can finish infront of Sosie again 1st weekend of Oct.

Drifted on the PmU in France so punters over there took heed and knew he wasn't cherry ripe. English punters were fooled by the english Bookies going so short.
Made the running something the horse never does was also a negative. Still not sure even fit as a flea in 3 weeks time he will win the Arc....but forgiving a horse a bad run or undercooked has given me plenty of good priced winners.

noticed his sire didnt win over 12 furlongs, albeit only ran in the arc over that trip after winning over the french derby trip, could he be a non stayer

he may have been undercooked and he may still win the arc but sosie won that pretty comfortably and given fabres and rougets arc record I'd expect both left a bit to work on Fabre said after the jockey club that sosie is a type he expects to go on improving through the season ,I wouldn't be surprised if Delius is given a much more positive ride in the arc as he looks all stamina .

One cannot be sure whether he stays 12f. However, I think to be only 3.5 lengths behind the winner Sosie having made the running, and only tiring in the last furlong all is not lost. I think he's capable of much better; beating Sosie 105 days ago was clear evidence of this.
I'm also a beneficiary of horses that bombed the previous race and won a race later eg Ylang Ylang and Minding (Fillies Mile) and City Of Troy and Auguste Rodin (Epsom). I just hope his trainer can get him racefit on 6th Oct.

The comment by Fabre about "whether Sosie can win is another question" does not inspire utmost confidence given the horse likes Longchamp and definitely stays 12f. Nevertheless, I'd have Sosie on my side too.
