Two members of the racecourse security staff had reported that Pat Dobbs had struck MISS COLLADA on the walkway coming off the track, following the race. Having viewed the video footage and heard all the evidence, the Stewards accepted Dobbs’ explanation that he had given the filly a light slap down the neck with his Pro Cush whip.

Pat Dobbs and whip happy, not words I ever thought I'd see in the same sentence.

racecourse security staff snitching on a jockey because of a couple of love taps?

You should know by now George, hibby loves to highlight anything negative about the sport

dealer, I think 'we' became nations of snitchers during the 'plandemic'. The ole curtain twitchers, checking on their neighbours that they weren't leaving the house for more than the permitted one hour a day.

How quickly society can descend...

Dobbs is deffo imo more Joe Fanning than he is Luke Morris when it comes to use of the whip.

So he's used outside of a race I'd presume he had good reason to and after all it is carried for safety reasons.

I'm surprised they didn't video it and plaster it all over social media.

Pretty difficult to comment on something you haven't seen. I certainly wouldn't start throwing mud at the two individuals without seeing it. We know what is acceptable to the bubble isn't always viewed the same outside of the bubble. It doesn't even say why he hit the horse. Chapman and Shark would no doubt be delighted to hear 'pro cush' and 'love taps' getting another outing.

If it was something and nothing put the footage out there.

it's not me being negative at all...

it's me letting folk know about some of the things that happen on a daily basis...

i very much doubt RTV or ATR spoke about it yesterday...

the fact that i'm called negative just shows you how hideously 'positive' the racing media tries to be these days...

it's disgraceful imv.

totally agree differentdrum...

we can't comment on something we haven't seen...

i have no idea what Dobbs did...

only a very few folk do...

show the footage and let us make up our own minds BHA ?

what about the curtain twitchers who called the cops when the folk at number 63 were having parties till the wee small hours ?

should they have just seen it and said nowt ?

some of us did their best to stay within the rules during Covid and some blatantly didn't...

well done the curtain twitchers imv.

Why would I need to see the video dd? The stewards have seen it and made the judgement. That's fine by me but as your in the anti whip brigade, I would assume any contact from Dobbs would have been wrong, regardless of the situation.
As for the security guards, who is throwing mud ? How qualified are they to know when a jockey needs to use their whip for safety reasons ? The stewards actions, where it happened, what Dobbs said all imply it was used for that, nothing to see, move on.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the stewards see lots of things...

i don't agree with all their judgements and i'd be surprised if anyone did...

differentdrum is spot on...

we are supposedly all big boys here...

let us see the video and we can all have a view on it rather than having to go along with what the stewards say.

What's the big boy stuff about?

If you want to see it fine, dd wants to see it because he is against the whip and any "love taps from the procush" From Dobbs will be cruel and unwarranted.

differentdrum wants to see it coz it gives US the chance to have a proper view on the incident...

as it stands all we have is what two racecourse security staff said to the stewards and the video evidence the stewards saw...

put it to bed...

show us the video evidence...

if there's nowt to see then show us...

what's the problem ?

I would rather see the incident and form a judgement rather than the alternative of just assuming the Stewards were correct. We know they don't get everything right, far from it. Those who reported it had nothing to gain in doing so. In fact the opposite might be true. On the other hand if there was something there would be every reason for the Stewards to draw the conclusion that they did. More bad news for racing is not what they signed up for. They are not impartial. If nothing happened let's see nothing.

Dobbs actually got a 20 Day suspension for the whip @ Nmkt about a
week ago.

Even more reason why they wouldn't have wanted to find him guilty of some other whip offence. Imagine if this was bad how it would look for him on top of a 20 day ban.

Not only are you and DD not big boys Quixallhibby, you are infantile whingeing  small boys pretending to be adults. Going by your comments on here you have tried to make something out of nothing simply to seek more attention, as for DD doubting the stewards who are adults and act as such needing to answer to him sums him up!! HTH

DD where would there have been a whip offence under the Rules Of Racing?

He was not even on the track or in a race you thicket!!

So what? Even Joe Fanning has been banned in the past for 'misuse' of the whip.

I've been watching Dobbs ride for the last twenty-odd years, I'd regard him as a sympathetic rider.
