It bears no resemblance to her other three wins. Today she probably had more in hand than the official verdict, but not much. It was way short of the emphatic win you might expect from a 1/16 shot. Of course the trainer said he 'couldn't be happier', but those who have punted her ante-post might now be worried that something might beat her this season let alone at Newmarket.
Yesterday's win in the Debutante was almost a carbon copy of her previous race: same opposition; same starting price; same result; but run faster.
Whether the Chesham win was too good to be true, well, Royal Ascot comes early in a 2-year-old's career and is run on an idiosyncratic course, so it is possible that is a career high but we shan't know until she retires to the paddocks.

I opposed her today with Red Letter and Lake Victoria. Unfortunately, Red Letter contracted, and Lake Victoria lengthened in price, but a wins a win. Hard to believe it was much of race with five stretched across the track and the winner picking up pieces. Not going swimmingly for the O'Brien hotpots with Henri Matisse turned over later.

To beat Exactly 2x - once comprehensively - and behind the same horse yesterday was too far-fetched. I'd put that down to being the pacesetter. I hope she turns up in the Fillies Mile at newmarket next month. I think connections would like her to go to Newmarket for experience, if sound. Also, 8f will play to her potential.

Indeed. A very strange day yesterday for backers of favs in Ireland and France. Not only were they repeatedly turned over a change in riding tactics were deployed.
This "game" never ceases to surprise esp in Ireland. Thank goodness I only did a double. In Ireland "funny" results aplenty. I thought Henri Matisse ran like a drunken sailor at the finish eg wandered around, ran around and hung both ways.

My experience was that the results in Ireland were far more predictable than those at Doncaster. Both Bedtime Story and Henri Matisse came in off unimpressive wins, started short enough, and got beat. The market wasn't wild about either.
There were several inexplicable performances at Doncaster, and even if you raced in a bunch on the straight course, it seemed virtually impossible to win if you were closest to the far rail. That said until Baldomero, I don't remember too exploring the near rail.

Cant agree that Ryan Moore had a terrible day. He won the feature race the Group 1 St. Leger. He won in excess of 600K Euro for connections. Best rider by some distance. Now Oisin had a bad day. Late arriving but was still all smiles when we met him after the St. Leger.

It depends what you call terrible. I doubt he was overjoyed to lose on all four 2yo's, three at odds on. The two winners he bagged were 10/11 & 2/5. Anyone backing him would have done well just to land on those two. I suspect many multiples disappeared over a cliff.
