yes , to save pandemonium they pay on the podium, which is ridiculous, but then F1 is ridiculous not 'weighing in' before the presentation.

No guessing required - market rules say "This market will be settled based on the result at the time of the podium presentation."

I think the podium result is prudent anything else could drag on and on and on eg an appeal post race. The appeal result could take days to come in.
Very unfortunate for Russell. I think 1.5kg lighter would equate to at least 1 sec per lap faster. |

I watched the race and was pleased for Russell. Last few races have not been a yawn fest, but sadly yesterdays excitement proved pointless for Russell, not worth the waste of fuel...

Wolff did not look pleased at all to me immediately after the cars crossed the line. He'd usually be ebullient after a win. Maybe, just maybe, he knew something was not quite right even before the winning car was weighed post race.

Thought that too, impossible. Never seen such an unhappy winner.

Normally Wolff would be thumping the table with both fists yet was uncharacteristically missing despite securing a 1-2 finish. Was he interviewed post race? I'd switched over by then.
