We've all had accounts closed, some sooner than others, but i had 1 bet of £700 and i got the dreaded email before the bet had even been settled. Never had an account closed so quick. The bet lost incidentally.
When one agrees to the terms and conditions with all these online bookmakers, you don`t have a leg to stand on if a dispute arises. It`s all hidden in the hieroglyphics which nobody on Earth would be able to decipher and understand.
.... If the selection had won, do you think you would have been paid? Personally, I have never heard of them.
I think that at the very least you should have been given the reason why it was closed as listed probably in their t & c.

For some unknown reasons I've been getting emails from betting companies that I've never heard off. The only one I can remember is BETTI. A couple of others I was advised by laptop not to open as they could contain a virus.
Anyone heard of BETTI? If so, is it legit or a grey market entity?

There shop in Uckfield used to have a good few offers. The friend I used to visit there has been dead for a couple of years now so it could be different now.

As second again as has already mentioned he started as a one shop bookmaker down by the bus station in Uckfield a mid Sussex town.
I have been to the shop a few times and he used to have a few decent offers. The shop was never really that busy on the occasions but clean and tidy I went there.
However he seems to be following the business plan of Ben Keith of star sports in starting an online company and some of the recent company moves would suggest Julian Head the owner of Goodwin Racing is in cahoots with star sport.
Star sports used to have many company banners and signs at the Towcester greyhound track where Star sports sponsors the Greyhound Derby.
However that track has now been plastered with Bet Goodwin signs I also think they did a similar deal at Brighton and Fontwell park and both companies seem to get Simon Nott on occasions to do 'blogs' for them.
Goodwin used to have a rails pitch at Brighton but now starsports seems to have done a swap as they now have a rails pitch there.
Julian Head seems to have done well with his race horses and along with Chis Gordon Sussex trainer Gary Moore has trained his horse he also is a greyhound owner at Hove.
However my brother lasted just over 2 months before he was closed down.

Just the same as every "new" on-line "bookmaker" since about 2004. You can have as much on as you like..... so long as you want to bet on red or black!
Without exception, they are all just a smoke and mirrors front, pretending to be an on-line "bookmaker" in order to get their fair share of free money from the people that they can get addicted to their "wheels and reels".
You know the game if Finnish when Bet356 are about the best firm out there!

exactly, gub anyone betting on sports. you're then essentially just running an online casino under the guise of operating as an online bookmaker with an online bookmakers licence. with no intention of laying an egg. why should you ?

A horse collapsed in Piccadilly. Policeman was there 10 minutes, writing it up in his note pad. The Sergeant came up to him and said, “what’s taking you so long?”. The policeman said, “I don’t know how to spell Piccadilly”. The Sergeant says “well… it’s…. P - I - K …… oh just drag it into Tib Street!”

All of the posts here might be accurately summarised as "Never, ever open an account with any new bookie." Be especially wary of those who sponsor horse races. The first thing a crooked outfit does in an attempt to give itself a veneer of respectability is to sponsor a race (and perhaps the whole card). Several contributors have it: glorified casinos, all of them.

A long time ago I'd an issue with withdrawing from a new account of an online bookie concerning a winning free bet. The original was a loser.
I was told "we're not governed by betting t&c as we're not based in the UK". I binned them after.

All you need is an online gambling license which I think costs around £370 if you pass the personal checks and provide adequate proof of identity. It's easier than trying to withdraw winnings from anybody that sets a company up

casino only jobs. some will stick up prices, their own prices, for the racing. 5/2 at b356 they'll have it up at 7/4. touch that it's laid off within a nano-second. means they can't lose on sports betting and the casino generates them guaranteed income. can maybe even jig their virtuals, depending on how sure they feel nobody's going to ask questions.
50 quid on the fav at Steepledowns please. last, wanna try again ?

Hayes was initially jailed for 14 years, with the sentencing judge telling him: "Probity and honesty are essential as is trust, just like they are on the virtuals or casinos ... The Libor activities of which you took part puts all that in jeopardy." His sentence was reduced on appeal to 11 years and he was released from prison in 2021 after serving half
