Have to agree, he doesn't enhance coverage. Surprised they swear like that when being filmed. They seemed be trying to find a selection that might win based on knowledge of horses rather any recent race form. Nothing in it really.

Storm , they were providing selections to the producer so they could be put up on the screen , but they clearly had given no thought to it , nor were they even aware of the runners .

Bookies like to employ tipsters/pundits tipping losers. This is good for business. As for AP M it's best he stays off tv. He contributes nothing eg charisma-less, unintelligent, incredibly dull, bad-tipster/pundit; he said the most recent Grand National was one of the best ever just because his main employer JP owned the winner I am Maximus.

I think he's the most boring horseracing pundit on tv ever. Not only does he lack charisma his monosyllabic presentation is cold and lacking enthusiasm and professionalism.
Only ITV Racing will have him.

Back in the day, AP had a very insightful column in the Daily Telegraph. Maybe that was due to his ghostwriter asking the right questions, or being a better writer than AP is a speaker, or AP being closer to the action in his days as a jockey.

The arrogance & nasty edge that made him a great rider is his Achilles heel on tv.positively bristles with disdain when anyone disagrees with him, especially when it’s someone he perceives as less knowledgable.unfortunately ruby is the only one who doesn’t come into that category.on the plus side away from the media seems to be a good friend to have, understand he was of great help & loyal when graham lee had his terrible injury.
