At the time I blamed pilot error all these years on I just put it down to that’s racing.
Look forward to watching this when back home as sparrow rightly says the greatest trainer of them all.

Just managed to find time to watch the programme and thoroughly enjoyed it. A great tribute to a leader in his field, the best ever. Even back then he was clearly a great thinker and someone who studied horses in great detail.
To be bold enough to start selecting Northern Dancer offspring before anyone else is the stuff of greatness.
To lay the foundations of Coolmore as we know it now is a massive achievement. I wonder if he studied pedigrees at all or whether his eye on the sales ground was what he trusted most?
He'd be the first person I'd be asking for a dinner party of racing people, past or present. His depth of knowledge and thinking would be something that you couldn't help but learn from.

Always felt Christy Roche never got half the credit he deserved for his winning ride. Strong as an ox in a finish.
