What about Lesley Graham's 4 hour walk round the Chester wall with cameraman and sound man? Money well spent.

Pre Cheltenham I was looking at some old races and stumbled on some old 3 hour broadcasts from back on the day.

Ending up watching a couple.

Still didn’t pick a winner Laugh

I think one problem with ITV is that there’s no let down…it’s always a million miles per hour with every race day being the best day ever and is being told every week that we’re witnessing greatness.

After a while people just zone off from it…

And it does then a disservice because they just stay in a weird bubble they can’t escape from.

Seeing them discuss the cost of living crisis the other week was hilarious….wtf does posh Oli and Francesca know about that lol

Thanks to Zealot for posting the video. Watching it takes you back to simpler times a more buoyant time for the sport that I don't think will ever come back or fet close to being revisited.

Good to firm going as well!!

Totally agree, halcyon days for those of a certain generation.

The credits at the end if the programme had an extended version, goosebumps right enough.♥️

If you've Mr Chamberlin covering horseracing the sport is doomed por kapoot; he's not not cut-out for the sport professionally.

Mr Chamberlin is a put-off on ITV Racing. He knows nothing and contributes nothing to content and entertainment.

Remember Top Cees lol.

The CH4 team were unbelievably good then we lived through a golden era of coverage by really knowledgable and involved racing professionals and journalists.

Compare McCririck and Tanya to the guy now in the ring i mean gulf of difference. David Hood i mean, Ed just not my cup of tea.

Francome, Jimbo, Ted Walsh, Derek Thompson, Graham Goode those were the days unbelievable coverage. Not just bookies mouthpieces. I knid of knew i was in a golden era as well i appreciated it at the time right up until before 2006.

There seemed to be a lot of sniping between racing journalists even then they were trying to bring each other down a little jealousy going on.

I defended coverage at the time on here they took some right stick on here.

Sir Peter O Sullevan's commentary of the leader in the Supreme alternating between Redundant Pal and Reluctant Pal. Laugh

Some fantastic memories of 88', I had some fabulous winners during that week including a substantial bet on Galmoy and a £75 L15 on Private Views (7/1), Aquilifer (9/1) & Charter Party (14/1), which paid nearly 8k (Observe for 55k in the 4th foxhunters could have been my biggest ever win). 36 years ago is a depressing thought tbh...

Shergar, Zafonic, Vacarme, Miesque, Ma Biche, Katies, Minstrella, Mtoto, Triptych, Desert Orchid, Burrough Hill Lad, Little Bay, Forgive 'N' Forget, Brown Chamberlain, Aonoch, Browne's Gazette, Diminuendo, Barnbrook Again, Panto Prince, Jodami, Silver Buck, Bregawn.

I'd die happy and satisfied having witnessed the above horses run - most on terrestrial tv or sis pictures in the bookies. To be honest I've no recollection of Camelot winning The Derby; the duel between High Chaparral and Hawk Wing, Secreto and El Gran Senor yes!
