Yes, Nicholls won the title by winning the Whitbread, so it was still live for the first 4 races that day.

He did this before a few years back ie as soon as there was no hope of him winning he withdrew the remaining horses and sulked back home.

I don’t know if he will do this again but it’s sort of ruined the remaining card for me because you’re in a holding pattern waiting for him to make a decision. If you bet one of the others you could be left reeling by a brutal rule 4.
