First bit might be right but not the second - both came together after hurdle only 1 stayed straight after.

should keep it for me too but no guarantees with stewards. Langer dan came over the most and impaire et passe was pretty much clear of langer dan when he took it's  ground.

I've been lucky today. I took a chance with Sir Gino (1/1) and Impaire Et Passe (11/4). Some you do win, some you do not. It's swings and roundabouts alright.

Can I sue for my money lost on Buz Khashi when it won at Royal Ascot by about 10 lengths and was disqualified.

in the end it was all only close because the winner was stopping near line,nothing to stop either 2nd or 3rd getting up if they were good enough imo,
stewards will be happy lucky,barber,and dixon think they wrong,which probably means they were right

Think the Stewards thought it was too complicated (...it probably was) and decided to just let things stand.

It was a fair result all things considered leaving it as was.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two pieces of interference from the approach to the second last flight of hurdles and after jumping the last flight of hurdles, involving BOB OLINGER (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rachael Blackmore; LANGER DAN (IRE), placed third, ridden by Harry Skelton; and the winner, IMPAIRE ET PASSE (FR), ridden by Paul Townend. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved IMPAIRE ET PASSE (FR)’s placing as in the first instance, on jumping the second last flight of hurdles, the gelding stepped right-handed, towards BOB OLINGER (IRE), however with it being such a distance from the winning post, and no momentum lost to BOB OLINGER (IRE), the Stewards were satisfied that it had no bearing on the result. Regarding the second incident, IMPAIRE ET PASSE (FR), shifted left-handed taking Skelton slightly off his intended line, however the Stewards were satisfied that IMPAIRE ET PASSE (FR) was clear when crossing LANGER DAN (IRE), and that LANGER DAN (IRE) appeared to lose no momentum from the carry, as a result, having considered both incidents they ordered the result to remain unaltered. Disappointed, but accept the decision.

Total bilge, it was marginal enough but the fptp obviously impeded LD, nobody could legitimately contend otherwise. The overhead shot showed LD was coming again at the line and in front within a couple of strides. The market favoured a cop out, and it was duly delivered.

Racing is not run in lanes and nor should it be. If you impede or squeeze out a rival that's a foul but he left enough room for Langer Dan and Skelton chose to switch. Correct decision.

Of course not swifty, but the are also rules and if one runner impedes another, and it beats it by a tiny diminishing margin, the positions should be reversed.

The stewards claiming LD lost no momentum is a crock, we all have eyes, we can see he obviously did. But they are fully aware that the margin was so small, if they concede the obvious then they would have to flip the finishing position of the fptp to behind LD.

Cider, I've no doubt that would've made things trickier for them. But Langer Dan's interference to Bob Ollinger was as bad or worse than Impaire's on Langer Dan, so then the only possible 'fair' outcome if you believe the interference was sufficient would've been to promote Bob Ollinger to first but that doesn't happen in the UK.

Yes, if BO had been beaten by LD by a SH their positions would have been flipped. He didn't, so that was completely irrelevant to the interference LD suffered himself. It could be argued that prevented BO from winning, however that is not considered in the rules, and demoting IEP would have effected in BO getting 1st place anyway.

Their job isn't to look at the result overall and determine if it's fair (imo), it's to apply the rules and judge any separate incidents of interference on its own merit. Whether that results in morally the correct outcome overall, or not.
