Outstanding effort imo.

Clearly taking tine off from sending pics of himself to teenagers, and seeking mental help, has done him the WORLD of good...

Crimes against the state such as the rioters were odds on to cop for stiffer ( deterrent ) sentences,
I am all for it personally.

The usual rubbish from the defence lawyers ,mental health problems, may have drank alcohol before he looked at the pictures ,hasn't done anything since then ( hardly surprising after he'd been caught ) ,and he's sorry .A vile individual .

I couldn't care less about the poor rioters moaning about harsh treatment in sentencing - tough sh't for them.

However, I do wonder about anyone who commits the same crime as Edwards - will they get such lenient treatment or not? That's a far more important question...

Cannot think that is right. Men a few weeks ago getting jailed for a carpet - pushing people.
If I was a young un now, my boundaries would be wide behaviour wise. fcking disgraceful.

Fecking mad world we live in. Sex offenders released to make way for 3year sentences for rioters acting menacingly towards police and 5year sentences for peaceful protesters. One of these released sex offenders assaulted a woman the same day ffs. Meanwhile Huw Edwards get six months suspended sentence for child abuse (and that's the impact that indecent images of children have on those young people who are made to appear in them).

Government has a great sense of proportion.

Absolute scandal but are we surprised?
All sentences should be comparable
A one off situation where somebody shouts or makes signs at police or their dogs gets 3 years
As against somebody on more than one occasion is paying for images of children as young as seven... 6 months suspended, Sir

Chief magistrate Paul Goldspring says he accepts Huw Edwards didn't pay in exchange for images.
He says he made payments to convicted paedophile Alex Williams as an apparent "thank you" after he sent pornographic images but didn't purchase them in the traditional sense.

So he sends the pedo £1,500 but that wasn't for the photos he got Laugh

That's bolIocks Acey, viewing and paying to view indecent images of children encourages abuse of those young people who are made to appear in those images.

magistrates can only give 12mths max.

Not quite GoBallistic. There is another case looming where victims are complaining about abuse by other kids, so maybe the idea that underage sex doesn't matter provided both are young is under threat.

Rico, 1430 post
But magistrates can send the case up to Crown Court if they think that their sentencing powers are insufficient

Although, I agree that this is normally sorted out beforehand

I feel sorry for his kids - how can THEY show their faces in public. I'm just trying to imagine how I would feel if it was my dad in this situation. The first thing is probably change my surname via deed poll. Might have to move to a different company where I wouldn't be recognised. The worst type of embarrassment one could possibly imagine!
