This is a subject I'm particularly interested in.
Are there any times when you simply cannot lose?
Are there any times when you simply cannot win?
Does the way we think affect the success of our bets?

You will never lose if you are sufficiently disciplined to never bet on anything that breathes or is controlled by anything that breathes.

True, but the psychology of tipping does have its philosophical roots and predicates in betting.

Good point, which was succinctly put, I think by Monica Dickinson and championed by Mattie McCormick: There's never a last race!

Of course: Yes.
It is so annoying when idiots say, 'You should have withdrawn it! But they only come in at the last moment and state such silliness. Why don't they come in when you've won a pound and state with self satisfied nonchalence: You should withdraw the £1!

Report Cutter27 April 1, 2024 1:19 PM BST
No, these creatures of criticism and self adulation would rather wait till a punter has hit the highest point and then hit the lowest point before stating: 'You should've withdrawn when you were at the highest point!'
How the ....ing hell does a punter know when he or she has hit the highest point? Like telling a dealer on the stock market after the crash, 'You should have sold before the crash!'
I choose strangulation for these c****s if only to see their faces before they realise they really are a ....t!

i remember walking  into a bookies and tipping a 14/1 shot. it was crowded.

went back to collect and he had only paid me and one other - few trust a stranger

Yes, I can agree there. Strangers with ideas are thousands, but there could be one of interest, but they are hard to find and trust.
