Only been on here over 20 Years ffs.
|
By:
Surprised to hear that, acey.
|
By:
But they both do the same thing, proof of identity. I presume they also need a proof of address as second part of verification, just send copy of council tax or utility bill, would that suffice?
|
By:
Have you been on live chat?
|
By:
My address is on my Passport and driving licence.
|
By:
live chat does that thing work?
|
By:
Be sorry to c u go acey
|
By:
Hi acey, when you say they’re still not happy, what was their response, asking for more I’d?a/c suspended or what?
|
By:
Same for me. Bloody Nanny State none of their business what I spend my dosh on!
So it's on-course and top meets only for me. Bye bye Betfair! |
By:
If it’s purely an age confirmation issue, common sense should indicate your legal simply by the length of time the a/c been operating.
|
By:
Live chat easiest way to solve or just close your account.
|
By:
Thats a shame to hear Acey, I have a feeling that a lot more have been put in the same position, I
could name umpteen usernames that have not been seen for a while. Did they not explain EXACTLY what ID was required. ? Maybe as someone else has already said that a utility bill or similar would do the job. ?? |
By:
Exactly Barrow but common sense doesn't exist any more!
|
By:
Dont just walk away, keep pushing them if you want to know what the real issue is.
Have they stopped you betting? If not, just carry on. |
By:
Glasgow. I sent them the requested info and they even acknowledged each piece with a separate
e-mail. Then two weeks later they asked me to verify again. I spent an hour waiting to talk to a live chat person and gave up when, after 45 mins of faffing around with him/her I decided life is too short for this nonsense . |
By:
Barstool. They advised that if I after Jan 31st it would not be possible to place a bet until I
provided them with the documents. |
By:
< sorry, ignore 'If I'
|
By:
I pointed out to them that to be under age now I would have had to open the account aged 3!
|
By:
Very odd acey, like you say for someone on here so long with an account.
Did they give any reason? |
By:
Rograin, that sounds so frustrating, I think most folk would have done the same, you would have thought after imposing all these requests the least they would have set up a proper means of contact.
Company seems to need some proper leadership/ professionalism not just referring everyone to Unlive chat. |
By:
Thanks roggrain.
Go straight to the top. Post/email id to CEO. He might lighten the plebs below up. Must be very annoying and hope you get it sorted soon. |
By:
Good idea Barstool.I'll do that with a covering letter explaining my frustration with their set up.
|
By:
This type of stuff is usually just admin mess ups (e.g. losing a document submission somewhere). Just keep on at them Rog and acey.
|
By:
and please keep us updated - we can all become in this position guys!
|
By:
Verify email address and mobile number…..
|
By:
Just bite the bullet Acey and upload a utility bill….name/dress/council confirmation…..job done, they won’t bother you again
|
By:
Address sorry lol

By:
I'm with you acey. I even had to give an answer to a 'memorable event' question (you know, the kind
you register when opening an account) to a frigging robot before it would pass me on to a live person! |
By:
Leave a message on any live chat they will return at some point you don’t have to wait for an age….banks,Power companies etc…
|
By:
Open live chat 20 mins before first race and if it takes 2 hours so what, you're on here anyway! Agree response should be alot quicker but like 90% of companies staff cut to the minimum, unfortunately way of the world at present
P.S We all waste too many hours/days on this forum but we still do it in between our punting |
By:
Passport and driving licence is not proof of address because they can be up to 10 years old. They will need something dated within a few months. Usually an online PDF from bank or utility or phone company will suffice.
|
By:
As Jamee said, those were my first thoughts.
|
By:
I think if the address on the driving licence corresponds with the address on the account, it should be accepted. I don't think there is an address on a passport.
|
By:
Matters not if DL is 10 years old if same as account when opened, Passports do not contain address btw.
|
By:
Sorry Dave you beat me to it.
|
By:
Let us know how you get on acey and if you decide to stop betting or they stop you but don't close your account, if worst case happens either way I can place bets for you for the big meetings and weekends if it helps?
|
By:
@CG
"Matters not if DL is 10 years old if same as account when opened" How does that work? Surely BF are wanting to check where you live now, not check that the address you used to register your account 20 years ago was correct at the time? |
By:
Utility with council confirmation is sufficient for any account in the Uk……
