Gotta think Hendo will bottle this, although he's less in control of the McManus horses. If goes ahead though, I'd agree with Hayden. Mullins will pull the same trick he did last year with Energumene/Edwardstone.

Jonbon seems to have matured and certainly jumped better last time than in the past. Also, Nico knows the horse better given he rides him more often at home; El Fabiola could be chancy with one or two fences in his races.

Energumene ran in the rescheduled race at Cheltenham last year.
Looks like it's going to be very cold on Wednesday & Thursday nights, but not so bad Friday, which gives them a chance.

Do you think in the case of abandonment El Fabiolo’s preferred option would be The Dublin Chase on February 4th?

dont get the ryanair thing with jonbon been trained all year for the champion chase and done nothing wrong, and now its going up 5F?, hammered in the betting in last 3 runs tells you its a fast horse at home
el fabilo must be an 180+ horse if its gonna him kick out of the way as ruby says

We're rubbish at moving cards FF. They are great at it in Ireland. People here always talk about catering/hospitality/staff as reasons it cannot be done.

Surely it would have been possible to move the all-weather card from Saturday to Friday, giving them a possibility to race on the jumps track on Saturday and Sunday. We knew this week was going to be below zero everyday since last weekend. Plenty of time to shuffle the cards about.

Clerk of the course Chris Stickels said: "We've had temperatures drop to -6C and we're still -2C now. The frost is setting harder in the ground and with -4C forecast tonight, if we can make the decision early for everybody it makes it much clearer.
Well the decision early is surely to call it off.

What happens to my bet then? Will it be carried forward to the reschedule meeting eg Cheltenham or stake returned? Only a small acca. involving Cheltenham Festival and Newmarket in May.

Only the Clarence House part be voided, if the bet however doesn't have the Clarence House specifically involved but was struck on a "festival" market on the basis of what might happen in the Clarence House then that bet will stand.

It's absolutely new market on Clarence House, if that wasn't the case Jonbon would have been heavy fav all week as we knew the meeting would be off and we knew EF wouldn't be going to Cheltenham next week.

Perhaps Editeur De Gite might run, he won the Desert Orchid last year before winning a re-routed Clarence House, although I can't remember if he was added or was an intended the week before at Ascot last year.

Some bookmakers will allow the bet to stand IF the race is rescheduled at the same course and not re-opened.
If not the bet is void.
Meaning a double becomes a single. A treble becomes a double. Etc

I think any rearranged race is reopened now Brandy (rule change this season).
Although Lydia Hislop suggests the Clarence House won't be rescheduled this year.

Thank-you all. Only a small acca. Nevertheless, the approach has taken by Hendo (especially) I find nauseating for horseracing. In the old days we'd have horses carrying top weights eg Desert Orchid against Panto Prince in prestigious handicaps. Now, avoidance being their main preoccupation prior to Cheltenham - the be-all-and-end-all.
