That’s not what I read in the tc’s when the policy was explained to me by somebody who has the imposition.
It always reset the following month I believe.

it's not about being carried over, it's within the agreed time mine is a week, as i see it so if your dep limit is 10,000 and you withdraw 500 the current is 10500

*I mean in the process I don’t speak from experience, but looks the same as it was.
The worry in the terms is not this issue but how they use the language that could signify a limit to losses rather than deposits Then there really would be issues.

Ultimately the disparity in the logic within how bf structured these limits has to be, in my mind, foreseeing the draconian implementation of AC by the GC.
It ultimately has to incorporate both deposit and loss limits. How else will they square the following?
A pensioner has 10k in their bf account, had a net loss of -500 a week or so ago and sometime this week loses -1000 within 24 hours. The operator is then obliged to trigger a more intrusive assessment, which comes back showing little income. The user isn’t looking to deposit, what then?
The GC arn’t saying people need restricting the amount they deposit, they are saying you arn’t allowed to lose.

One of the consultation questions was "when a AC is triggered should just depositing be suspended or also betting be suspended" or words to that effect. iirc they seemed to lead that their preferred option was just deposits suspended.

But I don’t have a whole load of confidence in them getting it right from what I’ve seen up to now.
The very element of distinction between ‘deposit’ and ‘spend’ worries me as it probably should others.

swiftynifty 23 Nov 23 09:49 sparrow, if you're planning to lose £10,000 a month you need to get a new hobby.
No that was not the plan, swifty. It was just at that time I did on the odd occasion sometimes have a four figure bet. After all I'm only a retired bus driver.

I can't see many respondents demanding that accounts are completely suspended, so hopefully that is the way it goes. The million dollar question though is, what happens when someone ignores the requests for AC info? (Telling them to fck off not recommended in these circs)

I set deposit limit because I was worried about all of the hacking stories, and don't like leaving money in gambling accounts over and above what I might need, and certainly didn't want my bank account lost to some random card game whilst I slept.
This seems to be a good move by betfair, and would appear to benefit those managing their account.
I got message too.I thought it because I set a deposit limit.I set deposit limit because I was worried aboutall of the hacking stories, and don't like leavingmoney in gambling accounts over and above whatI might need, and certainly didn't want my ban

I self-excluded from poker/slots/casino/arcade etc about as soon as I opened my BF account - if you don't play those games you may as well do the same.
And I have 2FA set up on the account.
I don't quite get the deposit limit as a defence against hacking - depositing, even having hacked your account (which shouldn't happen if you have 2FA) requires card details which criminals could equally well use to more directly profitable purposes?

Yep, I've a bit more security than just that these days
But, if they get my phone they might have got my wallet too and with it card details.
(I don't carry them in same pocket...)
I excluded from casino stuff but can't imagine Betfair hacking me.
It was more the p2p stuff that looked dodgy, and never knew if some random had be given access in the past, as likely happened with phone companies and broadband suppliers, energy companies, etc outsourcing customer services to India and elsewhere. .
