looks a dead heat to me.

both noses are on the first line and its not crystal clear which nose if any are touching the second line. Take out the second line and youd agree thats a dead heat

I think I need glasses as well ! Don't know why I've never thought about it before but is the winning line the very centre of the mirror or the very start of the mirror?

before the result and all the angles you,d have given your right arm for a deadheat on the eventual winner,as ive posted elsewhere no where could i see the winner in front

line is end of mirror..on the slo mo the winner imo was a clear winner..on the mirror reflection they were together..but the camera on line is just past the line so we are looking at the mirror with about a 10 degree angle.

i know there are two lines, i can see that. It looks a dead heat to me looking at just the first line.They could put a second line anywhere

if you think a horse has won and it gets beat your at least 2 noses out,which is closer to a hd

We need to see the full image which should include the mirror itself. Also, yet another racecourse

that can't be bothered to place the photo-finish camera exactly on the line (ie opposite the mirror at

right angles to the track).

That still looks like both noses are on the first line. Its not exactly 1080 Hd is it ? But i take your point that if they can find a clear gap it shouldnt take 5 mins

Surely, the line to the right as we look at it is the winner's line. From what I can see on this very poor quality pic is the nosebanded horse's nose touching that line, and a gap to the 2nd line (the
line to our left as we look at it)

First watch of RTV replay and freeze there was an optical illusion where I was sure the nosebanded head belonged to the near side horse. Had to do a double take.

1st line as judge drags it form right to left..can see dark shape of winner touching it..clear gap to 2nd

Looking at that photo steerforth, there is still no way that horse number can be called the clear winner

The noseband belongs to the winner, on the far side, not Pepsi Cat. The latter had its head up in the air at the time. Have another look.

You should try betting on photos, Manoleeds. You'll be warmly welcomed.

I agree with rico. Pepsi Cat was definitely beaten on the slow-mo, and I duly laid it. But because they faffed around for so long, I feared a dead heat and reverse-ferreted.

Won £16 instead of nearly a monkey.

i done same SBW..i had 600/1500 instantly..then cos it dragged i redded for £70.

The reason it dragged on ( imo ) is because of previous mistakes by judges ( i'm looking at you Emily ) where it looks like an optical illusion takes place ( shouldn't have this time due to one horse sporting a nose band )

The judge has probably looked at it once, twice, three times for luck and then once again to be certain and then called it the other person for confirmation.

After that's all done he's probably had another two or three checks

i agree..i also think they need a 2nd opinion from stewards or someone from bha.

Isn't there now supposed to be a second opinion sought which is one of the stipulations brought in after one of the debacles...think it was after one of Emilys c0ck ups at Kempton

now i do this every day and consider myself as good as any in photo's..the horse underneath looks 100% ahead but in the mirror reflection they are level..very strange illusion.

Screamin -I could have sworn that Pepsi Cat had the noseband  but you're right -appointment booked at Specsavers. Think I'll pass on the invite -I'll move from the poorhouse to debtors prison.

It's more an optical illusion, the horse with noseband has
won, it's tight, but clear.

Green jockey ahead, her hosses arse is ahead, and it appears
as if her horse has a noseband, but look again and it's jock
on far side getting his hosses heed down on the line.

Goodness me ! What an optical illusion that is ! The noseband looks like its on number 3, but then in the mirror looks like its on the other horse ! Why cant they do well lit 1080HD photos ?
