Presume it may be on Phone.

Exchange mobile site & mobile app look to be as usual on the 20+ fields later in the day.

No on the normal exhchange on laptop

Depends on the Size of your Screen, surely.

18 Runners show on my Desktop Screen - But far less on my 10 inch Tablet.

But - What is this ... "have to press the show more button" ?

Been on here for 20 years - and Never, ever, come across such a Button - or Message.

Just a thought - Are you viewing on a Laptop in some kind of Mobile mode?

Sorry, I have never seen a "show more" button on the Exchange website on my laptop.  And I use the site almost every day.

try reducing page size or change screen resolution

right click on empty screen..>>display settings >> display resolution

What is your OS - Operating System ? ...

For Windows 10 ...

Settings > then System > Should Default to  'Display' ...

Lower down - 2d Box = 'Display Resolution'

Open the Drop-Down Box ... Select different sizes - and play Away.

Done all that. Makes no difference. On each market it shows only 10 horses. The show more button is right at the bottom of the last horse centrally

its happening to me also.google have .pulled the plug on window 7 users,and taken away chrome,i moved to microsoft edge supported by bing but they are also saying that they are going to pull the plug on windows 7 shortly.they only display half the fields on the betfair card.
both say i must download windows 10.The small print says there is no guarantee that a fee may be introduced for users.
i think all the window 7 users (and there are millions world wide) will not except this.(my opinion)
but in the meantime expect betfair to lose at least 60% of their customers if microsoft pull the plug at the end of the month.

Google chrome pulled the plug on windows 7 users last Sunday Night at 21.45 .They took the chrome version away from windows 7 users and replaced it with something called Google gg.if you try to download chrome again you get a warning from microsoft.if you continue and are successful and get back chrome you have to sign a contract with them ,that mentions a fee and you have to agree not to use windows 7.you can not get a full page on any site when you try to enter using the Google gg.
in other words its=use windows 10 and sign a contract with Google before you can enter any site.
any page you enter is less than half the size it normally is.unless you download windows 10 and sign a contract.

It was happening for me on the big field races at Cheltenham. I can see a 15-runner race ok. But if I look at the Masters Golf field, I only see 10 golfers, with a 'Show More' button (which shows the whole field when clicked, as it did with the Cheltenham fields).

Windows 11, Chrome, notebook PC.

it's everywhere on the sportsbook, so maybe it has been partially implemented on the exchange. btw this is another example of developers who are clueless about betting, coming about with "ideas" to justify their paycheck.

What could possibly be the driver behind it? I'm guessing it's aimed at mobile devices, but even then I don't see the point.

I do not use a mobile device for betfair so its not that

Maybe it will now be for all devices as happens so often now thanks to bloody mobiles.

We MAY now have a possible answer, here.

Firstly, though - a Question - to those who are seeing this 'Show More Runners' Box ...

Do you NO LONGER have a Vertical SCROLL BAR at the Right-Hand side of the Market - between the Pink Lay Prices and the 'Bet Slip'- to simply bring an extended Runners field up the Market Frame?

- or - can you not simply Scroll the Runners UP & Down using your Mouse Wheel?

- or (Heaven forbid, for betting) - are you using 'Touch Screen' - and cannot Scroll the Runners Up & Down, by finger slide.

* ALL of the above I can still do - As has been FOREVER on Betfair -

The First 2 on my Desktop Computer -
The Touch Screen on my Tablet  (although I have a separate Mouse attached to that back-up/emergency Tablet anyway, when not out and about)

Given that the majority will STILL be using WINDOWS 10 - and the Majority appear to be UNaffected by, and NOT seeing this 'SHOW  MORE RUNNERS' Box ...

Then could it be a WINDOWS 11 DISPLAY issue - ONLY?

I would guess with phones, it is to stop someone accidentally clicking on a selection when trying to scroll down using a touchscreen, but that is just sloppy work, as it should be easy to tell whether the device is a phone.

btw I put a bet on the sportsbook last week as they were 8 places in one of the hamdicaps. I wanted to back three horses and had to close down the bet window after each one. Once again someone who hasn't a clue about betting coding a betting site.

Don't get this on Desktop Windows 10 firefox.

Find it really annoying on websites that have it.

I get exactly the same thing on my desktop (Windows 10, Chrome).

Masters Golf - 10 golfers. Scroll bar, but nothing to scroll to other than a Betfair logo. 'Show more' button to see rest of field.

I don't know where the 'cut-off' figure is, or whether it's restricted to certain markets.

I can see the whole of the Oaks AP market (20 runners). But the Derby shows 10 (+ 'Show more').

MY OS is W11 and eye get to see whole field without seeing/hitting any "show more" button.

My guess is the cut-off (for me) is 20. The next biggest field I can find is 24, and that has 10 + show more. Anything 20 or less I see in full.

No, scroll bar still, and functions normally. When I press 'Show more', I see exactly the screen I would want to see in the first place.

It's disconcerting, because when landing on such a race (with a 'show more'), the first thought is that either there are few runners, or the market is not fully formed.

I get the same result with the MS Edge browser.

...and with Icedragon browser, which has Firefox underneath it, though probably an old version, as I haven't used it in a while.

Scroll bar there all the time, but until the 'Show more' has been pressed (so that it then gets replaced with a 'Show less' button), the scroll only takes you down to see various logos, no more runners.

Still, though - We have Not/Cannot determine why the 'Show More' Box is Displays/is on some people Laptops - Yet Not on, apparently, Most users machines - most especially Desktops.

on the microsoft edge it shows the top ten horses in races that have more than 18 runners.and then shows the show more box for the remainder of the field.
on Google chrome the page is minimized to half a page and the right side of the page can not be seen.vertical scroll bar and all settings are off screen and you can not click on them.if you try to pull the page to the right a message appears saying windows 7 is not updating.Google Keep taking chrome away and replacing it with Google gg.and it will not work either.

Google have just released me from their prison,and handed me back my control settings.i also got a new download of their chrome/time 23.09.And i still have my windows 7.

I have old 11-inch Chromebook that eye tried seeing this (mythical) "show more" button on = FAILED.

I also have old 12-inch 2in1 laptop/tablet(W10) that I tried with,, in desktop mode as well as tablet mode = FAILED.

i doubt it is mythical as it has clearly been introduced in the sportsbook.

It seems that something is causing different Forumites to have different experiences on what seem to be very similar setups.

When a customer logs into betfair, a sign appears saying switch to this new tab,i think the guys who switch to the new tab end up in the google prison where the have to work on the show more button.

Could it be that you see it if you have ever used a phone to access Betfair? I did a few times about 10 years ago. It's quite possible that Betfair would hold a variety of flags in their profiles of users (as any bookie would do), and there could be one for 'mobile user', that, once set, never gets unset. Just a theory.

And google a taking a copy of every bet i place and displaying it on their main page.this is not good for the betfair company.

i don't understand it,i placed a bet on a German division 2 game,when i return to google,a copy of bet is displayed on the main front page of google under the betfair logo.it just lets me know what was the last bet i placed on betfair.

However, I then deleted Betfair cookies, and tried again, without logging back in, and....full list, no 'Show more' !! Then logged in, and got the 'Show more'.

So, seems definitely tied to my user id.

Indeed. So we now know it's not a computer specs issue. You(along with few others) could simply be a "beta" guinea pig before they roll this trash out to everyone..

mark my words=it is an introduction to artificial intelligence and the microsoft are experimenting without permission.
and they are targeting financial sites.

within two years you will be placing a bet by talking to the watch on your wrist ,it will respond to your voice and the robots will look after your bet and ask or advise what you do with the profits if your selection wins.

Seems this 'feature' has been removed, hopefully for good.

I guess either it was installed by mistake, or they got negative feedback from the 'select few' who were the unpleasantly surprised unlucky recipients.

I now see full field for Grand National, and Masters Golf. No 'Show More' button.
