God, I am bored (and the Snooker has finished very early today!):
The management (meaningless) Stat Of The Day© today = Hoffenheim games have produced +3.50 goals in 14 of their last 15 matches.
Over 3.50 goals for tonights match, away at Ausburg, is currently trading at about 3.00 (2/1) on here, having been a bit bigger earlier today.
Admittedly, six of those 15 games games were meaningless "club friendlies" and one was a cup match - but that still leaves them producing +3.50 goals per game in 7 from their last 8 league matches.
Their opponents (Augsburg), have averaged over 3 (3.05) goals per league match across their 20 league games played so far. They're not as prolific as Hoffenheim (who average 3.40 goals per league game so far) but Augsburg themselves have produced +3.50 goals in 7 of their last 12 league games.
The recent head-to-head for these two teams has seen them produce +3.50 goals in 6 of their past 8 meetings.
It's football - therefore past performance doesn't always equate to future results in any way, shape or form (so anything could happen!) - but in context of the numbers i have shamelessly manipulated (above) to argue my case, 2/1 seems a fair price for +3.50 goals tonight.
For those of you that don't like too much parentheses, I say, tough sh1t!
For those of you that like a (meaningless) stat - may the odds be ever in your favour! GL

Agreed swifty - the counter argument (in a sport that is as fickle as football) is that they are surely due an unders!
I used to play the extremities, selectively in a lot of goal markets, mostly in friendlies, obscure leagues and u17, u19, u21, u23, etc because they are difficult to price (imo) and therefore people make mistakes. Totally agree, It is very difficult to have an advantage in the mainstream leagues - but the German Leagues have been fruitful (at both extremities) these past few years. Kenbo - cheers. Fartyface - I have put up a Stat Of The Day© many times before (usually snooker or football) and I think I have a 100% strike rate (mostly at evens or slight odds-on). It's just a bit of fun - but fun with reasons! |
