i'm 100% certain the Newcastle BHA Stewards will ask him to explain that powder puff effort...
Newcastle Stewards are always on the ball imv. |
By:
If that doesnt warrant a large suspension then nothing will,
|
By:

Seemed to be keeping The Last Waltz for himself there.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's in the stewards now pleading Please Release Me, let me go |
By:

Newcastle BHA Stewards will haul him in...
Theodore...what kind of kid gloves treatment was that ? 'the horse lost it's action inside the final 2 furlongs and it felt to me like it was having a heart attack so i just let it coast home'... 'thanx Theodore' says the Stewards... we only hauled you in so that it looks like we are actually doing our jobs when folk on the Betfair Forum read the daily Stewards Reports online... keep up the good work son. |
By:
The horse appears not to have been given a handicap mark despite having run three times, and the last twice the jockey had reported hearing a respiratory noise.
Might have got the hat-trick up this evening, always best to try and pre-empt a R+R enq |
By:
When he gets hauled in he'll be hoping he's not judged by A Man Without Love.

Race 4 - 5:30pm
THE SCU SELECTS EXPERT TIPS BY BETUK MAIDEN STAKES (CLASS 5) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for COLNAGO (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood. Harrison Shaw the rider of DATA LEAK (IRE), placed third, was unable to weigh in due to him being unseated after the line. The Stewards were satisfied that the correct weight had been carried throughout the race and confirmed the placing of DATA LEAK (IRE). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- surprise surprise... Newcastle BHA Stewards missed it... just shows you what a total farce horse racing is. |

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of ENGELBERT, ridden by Theodore Ladd and trained by James Ferguson which raced in mid field, before being asked for an effort halfway, to stay on at one pace through tiering horses, finishing fifth of nine, beaten by 3 ½ lengths. The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. Ladd stated his instructions were to get into the race, find cover, allow ENGELBERT to run through horses and do his best. Ladd further explained that the pace was not where he anticipated, was forced to race wide from stall 10 left racing with no cover. ENGELBERT stayed on one pace to obtain in his opinion, the best possible placing. His explanations were noted.

His explanations were noted.
------------------------------ as per usual with BHA stewards... utterly pointless. |

twitter fred bout it..i didnt notice at the time..abso blatant non jigger..ridden same last 3 times.. very strange the betting though..how did they orchestrate a false gamble? |
By:
OK, it wasn't great and we all know why, but compared to Mulrennan's efforts lately at the same track and if that's the new benchmark, Ladd should have been pulled in for excessive riding.
|
By:
stewards either being disingenuous for reasons of not bringing racing into disrepute or just totally incompetent..
abso comedy gold. |
By:
I watched the race this morning and he wasn’t very busy looking. I don’t know what is going on….certainly wasn’t a gamble like the Goldie runner wasn’t a gamble…strange track…
Who rode the horse years back…nh I think…..strangled on the run-in in full view….and was a price….but stopped..ffs… |

pop trivia
What pop chart sequence did Please Release Me break when number 1 in 1967? |
By:
Beatles I'm guessing , Strawberry Fields Forever not making no.1?
|
By:
Well done, swiftynifty, they'd had 11 (I think) straight number ones commencing with From Me To You in 1963, and then had another sequence of 6 number ones after.
|
By:
