I backed this and kept a keen eye on it most of the race, turning in it looked as if he was going fine and just hands and heels then the horse had ideas of its own running to the 2nd last and trew its head in the air, and looked a tough ride Michael did a great job getting it placed , this horse has huge ability and one to keep the right side of given time which he needs...

I can only think you were watching a different race. That ride from two out was as bad as I have seen all season. Instead of grabbing hold he allowed the horse to effectively mess about between the last two. Basically, he made it look difficult. It didn't look so difficult on the run in when he knew he would run out of track. Try and see the head on. The winner has pulled up crossing the line, and this horse has finished with a load of running left in the tank. If you defend that - praising it is madness - you will defend anything. I had no financial interest in the race.

Just one last point you are effectively saying that within about 50 yards the horse went from unrideable to rideable. That in itself doesn't make much sense. It went from him not riding it to riding it when it had no chance of winning. It looks bad enough side on, but the head on confirms exactly what I have said.

I backed it for a place so was watching it and basically agree with workrider, horse is still green and awkward, he was holding it together on the ground then when he said go horse cocked head for a moment, ran awkwardly then realised what he was supposed to be doing and ran on through horses coming back. Will improve again next time. Jock did nothing wrong and unusual for me to say that.
