ignore runner up moving across because its nothing compared to the movement of the winner and that close any interference at all has made a difference. Especially considering the momentum of the runner up , another stride and its half a length up

I would argue the bump affected both of the horses so who could say what would have happened. They were racing toether. Neither was coming from behind. In the event of doubt its easier for them to leave , as in VAR.

If you didn't bet it Hulk it really doesn't matter if you was right. Personally I didn't see enough in it to reverse it. Luke had his whip in the right hand, if a horse still drifts slightly into the whip how is it the jockeys fault?

I wouldnt brag about being right or wrong in them sorts of scenarios, infact I'd be more worried that you inclined to think the same as the absolute clowns at the BHA?

it doesn't have to be the jockeys fault to change a result. any interference and a nose , straight forward swap

I don't bet on stewards or photos! Just pointing out with the margin of victory, I make them a coin flip in recent years...

From my perspective that was a poor decision.  None of the riders stopped riding.  I've seen horses almost put over the rails by the FPTP and result stands as it was 1/2 length in the winning margin.

Tis just anything goes.

Could make an argument for either.

Exactly how I saw the race. One edged right, one edged left. A joke of a decision.

Bigger horse slightly bumped , second btn 1cm . The only thing that was ridiculous was anybody saying with certainty what would have happened.Betting said it could go either way.Betting was right .

I was on Mohatu (2nd, placed 1st) but, having seen it a few times from different angles... am feeling like it must be my birthday :-)

Very minor bump clearly caused by both drifting towards each other.  Bonkers decision to reverse it, but thanks anyway, Southwell stewards!!!

I think the stewards were watching a different race looking at their report. Runner up will be reinstated upon appeal

My understanding was that the stewards had to be sure that the runner up in these situations would have won. How anyone could say that with any certainty is beyond me.

come on runner up was flying ! agree it wasn't 'significant' but it didn't need to be , it was a nostril guys

zero chance of an appeal being successful and they won't even try.

It was entirely predictable that it would be reversed as they only seem to care about the winning margin and not the severity of the interference. Win by a nose and cause very minor interference and you will likely lose the race. Almost cause carnage and win by a couple of lengths and you are likely to keep it.

The rules have become ridiculous over the last couple of years. They need to understand that horses do not run in lanes and very minor interference is a part of the game. They should only be intervening when the interference is more severe than a very slight brush.
