on the subject of Becker, how can you be released after only serving 8 months of a 30 month sentence?? 8 months done, time to go off and spend the millions he's stashed away no doubt.

Really nice and very honourable guy, with a very sharp, very astute betting mind. Widely and deservedly respected by all the upper echelon gamblers.
worked for a few years in the industry before buying circa 50 pitches at auction and becoming an on-course bookie (pre Betfair days), so he definitely know his horse betting.
One of the bigger players in Betfairs early years, running (very profitable) books on markets from the Oscars to the Derby.
As for the time he won E800,000 and the Irish Open.... Paddy Power ran a book on the event and had him at 30/1. Slightly incensed by being priced so high in the field, and possibly fuelled by red wine he perceived value at 30/1 so he cornered the MD of paddy power at the start of the event (who he was/is a good acquaintance of) and bet £10k on himself... and picked up £300k as well E800k 1st prize.
He has an adventurous approach to life and as a consequence is very amiable company.
P.S. Neil, if you ever get around to reading this... Back around 2013/14, I believe The Magician and Dor made casual enquiries to you about myself. I don't know what you said but the light you portrayed me in certainly seemed to impress them, and elevate their belief in my poker skills to probably way beyond actuality. Thanks for that.
Long time no see, hope you are well.

would think he says SP because there isn't any dispute about what the price is and whether it was available or not. Eg Hugh Taylor's selections are at prices almost no one gets.

Because I've watched the first seven days, Youtube's algorithm offered me this 2019-ish interview of Channing by Alastair Down, best characterised as two old geezers reminiscing about past Cheltenham winners, if you like that sort of thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIZ76v3xBf4

Just seen his views on the gambling commission on luck on Sunday ,he was absolutely spot on ,I wished he could on for longer.
Hi Jimnast, Channing has done quite a few longer analyses on gambling commission and affordability on Luck show over past year, if you can find them!
Going to Kelso next week and going to pub this Friday to plan DRF trip. Hope all well with you.

Tough race to pick a winner,Nicholls,Beau Balko first time handicap, could be anything and Amelia Dance has had two wins at Taunton and not a bad animal.

He seems to be factoring in trainer form in a big way, so it was a bit of a surprise that he went for a Richard Rowe horse yesterday, given the trainer had gone over 240 days without a winner, but unlucky, he was was just a day premature as RR had one go in today

Neil has always come across as a likeable character. But his tipping service is very very expensive. You would have to bet 50k a year to cover the cost before making a profit. No thanks

Just googled him and came across his website Betting Emporium. There's a template letter he's done to send to your m.p. about the gambling review..https://www.bettingemporium.com/pages/view/gambling-review
Day 12, Thursday. He does not look like David Walliams imo. Darts again, and only one point to avoid a big loss over the 12 days. Rob Cross to beat Scott Williams 3-0, 1 point at 11/4

Oh dear, Neil tells us he's been losing sleep over this
But fair play to him, cuz as he says, when he was winning he could have played it safe and just done one point bets, but instead he staked what he thought the bet was worth.

He used to do well punting bad EW races round North West London about 15 years ago and nobody had a clue who he was until he walked into my shop. Late Night Poker wasn't a staple for the majority of betting shop staff!
